Cover Story
by Anshuman Goenka
Yesterday, the “punch-up” between the two leading prime-ministerial candidates got direct & personal. Each made interesting points, but surprisingly neither addressed the questions raised by the other. Some heralded this as yet another arrival of an assertive PM. Quite frankly, I do not think the quality of the debate was uplifting and neither politician covered themselves with glory.
Since I am a Friend of BJP, I still remain curious about why the Prime Minister, or the Head of the Government, should not be the most important political authority in a country. I also think Advaniji wrong - in making his point that nowhere else in world is the Head of the Government under the cloud of an extra-constitutional authority. I can immediately think of Iran, where the Ayatollah has been more important than the ruling President.
The more interesting event was the release of the Congress manifesto. When asked whether Rahul Gandhi was not ready to be the PM, Sonia Gandhi raised the manifesto before the cameras, pointed to Manmohan Singh’s picture on the cover and said - “Aapne yeh cover dekha?”
That picture has been highlighted in today’s papers. Do you notice that the Congress President is deftly concealing the picture of someone else also on the cover, incidentally the same person who the Prime Minster painstakingly thanked for “nominating” him yet again? So, to answer the Congress President, we all saw who was on the cover, so please do not kid us.

In rediff article (http://election.rediff.com/report/2009/mar/24/loksabhapoll-what-was-on-the-congress-menu.htm) the response was “Wait and Watch” which is perfect fit sentence for CON(gres)s.
Wait and watch.
They will buy your vote,
They will buy your MP,
In return they will sell your Country.
Save India, Vote NDA.
LKA should also go overboard from now onwards and starts attacking congress leadership personally.
I suggest from now onwards most BJP leaders (especially LKA and NM) must be seen and heard regularly. Moreover BJP medea cell should also issue write-ups and press-brief on daily basis in state capitals and cities. This will help the voters to get clear idea on BJP even main stream media twists the news (they are already known for that).
1. Open a ‘new file’ in your computer.
2. Name it, ‘CONGRESS’
3. Send it to the ‘trash.’
4. Empty the ‘trash.’
5. Your computer will ask you, ‘Do you really want to get rid of ‘CONGRESS?’
6. Firmly, Click ‘Yes.’
7. Feel better?
Thanks to institutions like Tarun’s which take the real events and keep track of them from a Hindu nation perspective, ( referce is tarun’s blog at IBN today) we will otherwise be subject to the hand which modifies the nation and will have to suffer excuses and stories which will be warped to suit and served later as ‘History’. One has to just ‘see through ‘ what is currently served in history with a Hindutva perspective to realize the truth.
The India in its villages, Rural countryside , and the lower and middle class in Cities are all trapped in misery of various kinds. This entrapment is further compounded by the extreme stress and travails of life, in a city, if one has to take a bus to the office, or any of the life energy sapping daily chores. In the villages, the misery though addressed in parts have a very long list of ‘to dos’ to reach basic world standards.. In the rural side, despite its social advantages, the misery is still there and much to be done. And we are not taking of the disabled, have special needs and other limitations yet here. This misery is not caused by economic conditions alone. It is due the Politicians abject disregard for the people, and lovelessness to one another. All this Whilst our potential and samskriti can do wonders for us and for the world.
So despite so much to do, how does a nation tolerate, if the UPA comes up with yet another manifesto which is not going to make a significant result to our people? As Ravi Shankar Prasad of the BJP said last night, is it not due to not being accountable? Will not this type of manifestos keep the people under wraps for another 5 precious years. If the results, as projected don’t come, then what? If it comes, how much did the Hindu lose?. The manifesto itself is not transparent. It is just another open ended vague , low level promises. The UPA’s appeasement of the minorities ,vote bank politics at the cost of the Hindus in a way which is eventually detrimental to them and their samskirit coupled with the whole farce of regional parties who have caught on this fad, have to be turned around. The BJP will.
One wonders if it is not possible for people like Tarun to bypass the various NGO’s Human rights groups, who on the pretext of looking after minorities (which the BJP can do better in real terms) and take up strong nation wide litigation in the courts? Or should we take up nation wide protest on a Quit India format of a show of strength to these irresponsible people? We will get the results. It certainly looks like hightime. If it is not wise to use a tank to kill an ant, as this anti Indian internal forces, is going on with their overt and ‘cover’ agendas , for whatever reason or compulsion , is it not time for a bloodless nonviolent coup to throw out a bunch of what may be not more than a few hundred thousand power hungry people, who make this power group doing this injustice to us? Compromising national interest like ‘slow poison’ in common parlance?
Even the very mention of this will be of course will be seen and blown up as a Right wing , fanatical, choosing ‘hate over evil’ and condemnation. The insecure parties will again take up the ‘ secular’ flag. We have seen it all before haven’t we and cowed down. The general Hindu’s themselves will be alarmed at this suggestion with a ‘why worry about these things when we have so much to worry about’. But one thinks that the youth may not have that much of patience. Will we not have failed the people if we don’t put our all into this and ensure that India is back on its tracks. To curb this farce of a democracy which, either due to the parties like the non BJP parties, don’t have the foresight, the ability , nor the capability.
But something will have to be done, probably starting with widespread debates among the public, some course correction, some help from serious world leaders, urgent and serious introspection even after this election. It is time for Bharat to rise. There is a way. Very Transparent and very effective. After Sanjay Gandhi’s legacy of the Maruthi Suzuki, have we moved forward .Why is it after so many years we just have aauto rickshaw dressed up in car’s clothing. The next people ‘s car will have to be a Cadillac.
Has anyone at Friends of BJP conveyed the following to the BJP management?
TO THE BJP’S TOP MANAGEMENT….DEVELOP YOUR OWN MEDIA POWER SOON OR THE BJP HAS NO FUTURE….SERIOUSLY!!!!
I am a sincere sympathizer of the BJP, hence this negative tone in my comments. And I am sorry but there is no other way to digest this bitter pill.
BJP’s media management team should either be fired or revamped immediately. In all these years, the party has yet to start or develop a high-reach and influential pro-BJP television channel or newspaper (except the tiny Daily Pioneer) among other media vehicles, whether it’s in India or outside.
I myself have tried to get in touch with BJP’s media cell a few times on my various trips to India within the past three years, but with no success. The few individuals that I did manage to speak to came across as typical Indian government employees; IGNORANT, UNCONCERNED and UNRESPONSIVE.
The party management obviously doesn’t seem to understand the importance of media, communications and networking for political and national success.
Are the folks running the media cell friends of the BJP? I believe that this is a very serious issue that has cost the BJP many national and state elections so far. It’s image within India and outside has taken a beating time and again inspite of it’s good intentions.
TO THE BJP….Firstly, please develop or redevelop a proper think-tank before it’s too late. And when I say THINK-TANK, I mean a PROPER THINK-TANK, not an apology for a think-tank.
Secondly, please CHANNELIZE all this pro-BJP energy coming in from various quarters systematically and sensibly; else, this ENTIRE “Friends of BJP” exercise will be in vain and become the butt of jokes in the media like “India Shining” did. I personally believe in the sincerity and potential of “Friends of BJP”, and hence would not want this to happen. Also because failure is not an option.
THE BOTTOMLINE SUGGESTION WITH RESPECT TO DEVELOPING CLOUT WITHIN THE MEDIA — “KARO YA MARO”. AND IT’S NOW OR NEVER.
Jai Hind. Jai Bharat.
Spineless MMS is not even contesting elections!! .. Thats a BIG joke on democracy!
Good analysis Anshuman.
I was appalled to see MMS attacking LK A over Babri Mosque.Of course ,this move, presumably directed by his controller -who in turn is advised by her Hon’ble political advisor-Mr.Ahmed Patel,is very much insulting to the faith of the majority community.
Also, the manifesto is not only populist but also balantly communal. It promises implementation of religious reservation -a move which since independence had been opposed by all congress presidents right from Nehru to Rao.Alas, the lady ,who does not have any stake in well being of the country-controls this party.
In my opinion India never failed due to its people but failed due to absence of a right leadership.I hope this does not continue in perpetuity.
I sincerely hope that BJP comes to power under the able leadership of Shri Advaniji.
But, numbers does seem to say different story.
AP, TN, WB & Ker accoun for 143 LS seats, whet BJP will not be able to open teh account. What are your plans to counter this?
In the state of UP, Rajasthan and Orrissa, you may not fare well, compared to 2004. Whats your strategy to counter this?
Now you are left with few handful of big states like MH, Bihar, MP, Karnataka, Gujrat, Assam. How do you think that just banking on
these handful of seats will win you 273 seats required to come to power?
Rest of the states have less than 15 numbers of LS seats, where either you are weak or even if you will all the seats, you may
not come near to 273! What is your take on this?
In the backdrop of above stats, how is BJP confidently telling that they will come to power?
Times of India (I call it Times of CONs), CONs as in CON(gres)s carried two of the top three headlines as:
1st headline) UP govt may invoke NSA against Varun - http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/UP-govt-may-invoke-NSA-against-Varun/articleshow/4326431.cms
3rd headline) Ulemas want Cong-NCP to field at least five Muslims - http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Ulemas-want-Cong-NCP-to-field-at-least-five-Muslims/articleshow/4329075.cms
So much for Secular media.
Lets create Nationalist main stream media.
