Goa Event: Press Coverage
It was a wonderful event in Goa, with over 1200 people present to hear Ravi Shankar Prasad and Manohar Parrikar. Thanks to Sahana Nayak and her team for putting up such a great show. Ravi Shankar Prasad also took questions, and handled them with aplomb. Here is a photo from Navhind Times by Nandesh Kambli.
Here is a pre-event article from The Times of India:
Upping the ante in its fight for the Lok Sabha seats, a new initiative to push the BJP to power will come into force in the state on Tuesday.
Friends of BJP-Goa’ that describes itself as a subset of the educated civil society that is BJP-leaning, and willing to be vocal about it, will hold its first meeting at Tonca in the capital city on Tuesday evening.
The Friends of BJP’ comprises young professionals and intend to use social media (mobile and online) and drawing room meetings to help boost their support.
Its objective includes helping the BJP win more urban seats by using the assistance of members to get one lakh new votes in every constituency.
“We already have doctors, lawyers, chartered accountants and business persons among our members. The focus is on getting young professionals into the fold. We believe that four and half years of Parrikar’s rule was better than what the other governments gave to the state since the last 47 years. Similar in the NDA’s case at the centre,”convenor Sahana Nayak said.
Friends of BJP’, which aims at becoming a national movement, was officially launched in Mumbai on February 28.
“We will use idea banks, blogs, and SMSes in our campaign for the upcoming polls,” Nayak said, adding that an idea bank would provide a platform for members to channel inputs in multiple disciplines for the manifesto and to the BJP leadership.

I have one complaint and request to the organisers
Why you people ignore Andhra Pradesh ,such an important state of 42 MP seats, you are conducting else where but not in HYderabad —so sad
I think you should not ignore AP at any cost,at least in hyderabad you can conduct this programme. We are waiting for your reply,
It is indeed heartening to see that TOI has covered this event. However I am unhappy with the other sections of the media totally blacking it out.
I recently received a chain email(please see below) on the on the internet and while I am unsure how much truth is there in this but if this is indeed true, then it must concern not only BJP supporters but also supporters of other party who also believe in fairness of the peaceful, legal, morally correct democratic process in the country:

A VERY INTERESTING ARTICLE…EVERYONE MUST READ
Who owns the media in India?
Recent Gujarat election have witnessed unaccountable money paid to media persons of both, print and electronic by
Saudi Arabia to discredit Modi and the Hindutva forces, which Media did very faithfully without success.
There are several major publishing groups in India, the most prominent among them being the Times of India Group,
the Indian Express Group, the Hindustan Times Group, The Hindu group, the Anandabazar Patrika Group,
the Eenadu Group, the Malayalam Manorama Group, the Mathrubhumi group, the Sahara group,
the Bhaskar group, and the Dainik Jagran group.
Let us see the ownership of different media agencies.
NDTV: A very popular TV news media is funded by Gospels of Charity in Spain Supports Communism. Recently
it has developed a soft corner towards Pakistan because Pakistan President has allowed only this channel to be
aired in Pakistan . Indian CEO Prannoy Roy is co-brother of Prakash Karat, General Secretary of the Communist
party of India. His wife and Brinda Karat are sisters.
India Today which used to be the only national weekly which supported BJP is now bought by NDTV!! Since then the
tone has changed drastically and turned into Hindu bashing.
CNN-IBN: This is 100 percent funded by Southern Baptist Church with its branches in all over the world with HQ in US.
The Church annually allocates $800 million for promotion of its channel.
Times group list:
Times Of India, Mid-Day, Nav-Bharth Times, Stardust, Femina, Vijay Times, Vijaya Karnataka, Times now (24- hour news channel)
and many more…Times Group is owned by Bennet & Coleman. ‘World Christian Council¢ does 80 percent of the Funding.
Star TV: It is run by an Australian, who is supported by St. Peters Pontifical Church Melbourne.
Hindustan Times: Owned by Birla Group, but hands have changed since Shobana Bhartiya took over. Presently it is working in
Collaboration with Times Group.
The Hindu: English daily, started over 125 years has been recently taken over by Joshua Society, Berne , Switzerland .
N. Ram’s wife is a Swiss national.
Indian Express: Divided into two groups. The Indian Express and new Indian Express (southern edition) ACTS Christian Ministries
have major stake in the Indian Express and latter is still with the Indian counterpart.
Eeenadu: Still to date controlled by an Indian named Ramoji Rao.
Ramoji Rao is connected with film industry and owns a huge studio in Andhra Pradesh.
Andhra Jyothi: The Muslim party of Hyderabad known as MIM along with a Congress Minister has purchased
this Telugu daily very recently.
The Statesman: It is controlled by Communist Party of India.
Kairali TV: It is controlled by Communist party of India (Marxist)
Mathrubhoomi: Leaders of Muslim League and Communist leaders have major investment.
Asian Age and Deccan Chronicle: Is owned by a Saudi Arabian Company with its chief Editor M.J. Akbar.
Gujarat riots which took place in 2002 where Hindus were burnt alive,
Not a single Hindu family was interviewed
or shown on TV whose near and dear ones had been burnt alive, it is reported and the coverage was allegedly biased.
Tehelka.com also seems to target BJP and Hindus only, it is said.
The ownership explains the control of media in India by foreigners. The result is obvious.
PONDER OVER THIS. NOW YOU KNOW WHY EVERY ONE IS AGAINST TRUTH, HOW VERY SAD.
Ya, even I was aware of such a thing. Please spread this message far and wide. We cannot keep mum. I request everyone to forward the comments given by Observer 1 to everyone you know.
Comments posted on Hindustan times website in response to Sri. Sharad Pawar’s criticism of BJP and Sri. Modi.
One way our politicians can help in national development is to add to, better or support the previous or opposition parties work forward. While it is their duty to cry foul , they should come up with their suggestions instead of testing the intelligence and patience of the people as what is evident from Sri. Sharad Pawar’s comments on the land of Oddisi, Konarak and classical refinement.
All the comments, in this article of Sri Pawar is against the truth. Secondly despite his organization and admin skills as seen in the cricket or in the NCP does not really cut ice,
As even a courtesy look at what has become of the strongholds he himself represents in Maharastra. The sugar producers, have some the worst junk contraptions and obsolete technology in their factories. His other stronghold of Cooperative banks have not brought benefits to the rural folk as could and should be in the 21st century. Inside Maharastra itself there are umpteen companies, who have the technology to help all the sugar companies; there are many food packaging companies who can customize solutions so that the sugar growers can pack it and get the best rewards from the markets. And then they will be able to bank with the biggest state banks. The onus for this lacunae lies squarely on Sri Sharad Pawar’s shoulders.
Orissa interests will be best served, under the strong and dedicated government of the BJP. Another issue is that this elections national issues are paramount. The BJD may be a good state government, but bringing in third front issues breeds partiality in Governance. Hence it is imperative that a Strong party like the BJP govern and then look after all the interests of all states impartially.
This is wrong please make a correction (”Andhra Jyothi: The Muslim party of Hyderabad known as MIM along with a Congress Minister has purchased
this Telugu daily very recently”.)
The Andhra Jyothi paper is being run by a HIndu and a wellknown journalist,no muslim party had stake in this one
its really shocking to know that these electronic jaints who claim impartial and does fair deal to all political parties are really doing so when these media are owned either by the the foreign christian churchs or by the communists so sad please spread this massage in all local language news papers so that aam admi can understand the fairness of the media.
BJP should make this a point to bring to the notice of the comman man in all its public meetings
This is the best article on BJP in a long time..

Post the video of the meet.
My Meeting Experience.
It was a different experience to attend Friends of BJP meeting at Panjim on 7th April. It was different because the audience members were all professionals. It was experience because this meeting clarified several doubts which I had in my mind. More specifically looking at the questions which were posed to Ravi Shankar Prasad in the open forum and the answers received, I was thrilled that I am not alone in my views.
One lady questioned why the television media is biased towards Congress and why they pounce on BJP spokesperson in a group. She questioned why BJP is silently bearing this treatment?. My feeling was similar. Look at the topics of “Face the Nation” how negatively they are phrased when it’s related to BJP and see how lavishly “Can”, “Ifs” and “Buts” are used when discussed about Congress. Like me I am sure many of you must have stopped watching this show. As for me I really don’t remember when I last watched the entire 30 minutes of the show. I stopped watching not only for the reason that the channel is biased but because I don’t seem to derive anything new from the show. The anchor speaks more than the guests.
Another person asked as to why BJP spokesperson takes every topic seriously on TV shows. When BJD moved out from alliance, the BJP spokesperson seems to have taken it personally whereas when RJD , Dick and Harry moved out from Congress, Kapil Sibal was calm and composed. He does not seem to take any topic seriously we see him laughing out. This situation was confusing to me at first and did frustrate me. But then I realized how unconnected these Sibal and company are. They are just workers working for a family owned business. Whereas BJP is like co-operative movement and therefore each of the member takes onus personally.
At the end of the talk someone in front rows suggested that if India has to grow two words needs to be deleted from its dictionary “Minority” and “Majority”, I am happy BJP considers every individual in this country as a equal citizen and does not classify them in minority and majority. There are however fringe persons like Varun who may be because of Pilibit ground realities have uttered nuisance words. But over all for one or two such person the entire BJP should not be framed.
After this meeting I learned how important it is to carry opinion from drawing room to masses I always had inhibition to join a political party, I believed politics is not my bread and butter. I still feel that I cannot be a leader in politics. But one thing is certain after hearing Rajesh Jain, i am trying bring my opinion from drawing room to general public and what better way to start other than through FriendsofBJP.org.

Great news. Please post the video if possible. Vande Mataram!
The topic for discussion by the electronic and print media is to target only BJP and they take one small issue of congress and anchor is well prepared to target BJP and while asking the qns.The anchors ask with full energy and even they hint with the eyes to the opponent. I have seen Varun Gandhi’s vedeo has shown almsot every minute , where as Andhra CONGRESS chief Srinivas Vedio has shown hardly few times and there was no discussion.
Please highlight NDA achivement and manifesto and distribute the pamplets in every rally in regional language and also as detail of channel and news paper held by the respective agency so that every individual will understand the biased programme so that the negativity can be removed.
Discussions to be fair to all.
nvk,

After attempting twice to convey my views through ‘info@friendsofbjp.com’ I am sending this note.
When Dr.Manmohan Singh makes aggressive speeches Advaniji has to nauturally give befitting reply.
Neverthless I am unable to agree with Advani’s view that the PM should be necessarily from Lok Sabha. In fact we have seen in our own country and elsewhere that efficient leaders did not depend on getting elected (eg; Sir.Winston Churchil, Rajaji etc). Most of the voters - especially in our country- cannot identify such persons of high calibre. By insisting on efficient ministers to come only through Lok Sabha, the nation may be deprived of talented leaders. It can also be argued that’ how a person elected from just one constituency rule the entire country?’.
Another point of disagreement is, joining the bandwagon to ask Srilankan govt to stop fighting. On the contrary our leaders should ask LTTE to stop using innocent Tamils as their shield. In fact lankan Tamils need to be liberated from LTTE, a facist group.
I also agree with home ministry’s decision NOT to assure protection to IPL matches when we are busy with elections. Govt was right in suggesting different dates.
While wishing BJP all success I have to submit my views on the above.
Mr.Kasturirangan-Advaniji asking MMS to come from Loksabha is to actually requesting him to have atleast some self esteem and not be a mere puppet of his party president who is ruling the nation by proxy.
It is hoped that if he wins a lok sabha election-perhaps he would garner some courage to resist the undemocratic and anti-national demands by his remote controller(s).
