Haryana Elections
It is no surprise that the Hooda Government, following Congress’s super showing in the Lok Sabha elections, dissolved the legislature and called for an early election. The Congress is obviously confident of its good showing yet again in the assembly elections. While it is a fact that the Congress has traditionally felt the heat against strong alliance in Haryana, it faces no such formidable opposition this time. The BJP has walked out of alliance with INLD over seat sharing disagreement. Haryana elections are dominated by caste politics and the BJP’s appeal in the past has been restricted to urban and upper caste. This is perhaps an opportunity for the BJP to increase its support base amongst other sections of the society and evolve as a dominant player in times to come. This is something that the Friends of BJP would be delighted with. There is always a prospect of post poll alliance with the INLD. Importantly the political equation in the state will also depend on how Bhajan Lal’s Haryana Janhit Congress and the BSP perform.
Let us know the key issues BJP should raise in Haryana and what is the role that you would like it to play in State politics.

I think the BJP should have number-wise reservation for all castes in Haryana. To ensure “winnability” during the candidate selection, they should prohibit any discussion on past record, education qualification, criminal background etc

Centeral Politics is quite different from state politics.Here we have local issues also which are more dominant.

candidates should be selected properly (honest and popular candidates)
consultation with RSS/VHP/ABVP/and other religious organisation. include them in every campang and in booth stratigy.
keep the momentum going to maximum at the day of election.

I am the resident of Faridabad. Can tell the behalf of just Faridabad situation. In today’s world people want the performing government only. Here most of the percentage of castes are Punjabi, Gujjar, Jaat…..Both the BJP and Congress got the Jaat and Gujjar leaders only. No Punjabi leader here in our area. whereas these Gujjar & Jaat just perform in their areas only. That’s the very good option for BJP to stand a Punjabi caste well educated contender oppose to Congress Leader. By doing this atleast BJP will get the maximum vite from the Faridabad Area.

यदि देश का परिदृश्य आप सम्पूर्ण तरीके से बदलना चाहते हैं तो जातिवाद की बात करना छोडें ,बल्कि काम करने वाले कर्मठ ईमानदार लोगों और नेताओं की बात करें .यदि किसी जाती विशेष के नेता को आप चुनाव में खडा करना चाहते हैं जो अक्षम हो, निक्कमा हो और ईमानदार न हो तो बात नहीं बनेगी .कहतें हैं भी हैं और यह सत्य भी है की ईमानदार सबका बईमान किसी का नहीं .

Your note and recommendation is surprising. While caste continues to play a role in current politics, when it comes to vote, I feel vast majority look at two things:
whether the candidate is capable of xxx (fill in with your context or imagination)?
whether the candidate is inclusive and accomodative of the other predominant castes in the region.
By and Large I have seen people moving away from voting simply because the candidate belongs to a particular caste. I am speaking of the larger context, not sure about the situation in your place.
WE HOPE THAT BJP COME IN POWER IN HARYANA. IT IS BETTER FOR BOTH THE NATIONAL PARTY AND THE STATE.
BJP SHOULD PARTICIPATE ONLY IN ELECTION DEBATE NOT IN ANY CONTROVERSIAL DEBATES .
bjp can win both the elections if……………..here i can’t disclose the strateies.
BJP can do it. People in Haryana can do well get up. On your toes till you achive Victory.
Can you please let me know why the fuss was created in Himachal Pradesh during the BJP meeting just before the elections. And why did Congress dissolved the government in Haryana at the time when BJP would have focussed for elections in Maharashtra. Why BJP is always fighting on Hinduism agenda and critisizing the leaders of opposition parties. Where do you see the strength in campaign during elections from BJP’s end.
