Maharashtra Elections
We all are privy to the transition that the BJP is going through. This must have surely raised Congress’s hopes of electoral success in the upcoming assembly elections. The assembly elections in Maharashtra are crucial in this regard where the Democratic Front government has a dismal performance to defend. It may be right opportunity for an organized opposition to rest power from the ruling coalition, which is facing anti incumbency of two terms and is struggling with grassroots dissonance. It is also likely that the anti incumbency voters have realized who the actual beneficiaries are in case they vote for MNS and other smaller outfits. This should likely benefit the Saffron alliance.
Let us know what you think should be the issues this election and your expectations from a BJP-Shiv Sena government, if voted to power.

I dont see fortune clicking for BJP-Sena combine in Maharashtra state elections. I feel they will defeated thumbs down and reduce from their existing strength also. Both the constituent parties of the combine BJP and Shiv Sena are in deep crisis and their leadership has lost control in managing their organization and inner party co-ordination. Sena is suffering after virtual retirement of Balasaheb from active politics so is BJP after virtual retirement of Vajpayee. The present leadership of the both the parties are inept and lacks credibility in the eyes of the people/voters.
I see no constructive efforts being made by the two parties either.
The sena made the blunder by letting of Raj from their folds whose newly floated MNS would cut into the electoral grounds quite decisively. The power struggle between Uddhav and Raj was not acceptable to the people of Maharashtra. Balasaheb had to sit on the fence and watch the show as a spectator. He lost command and control on the party.
The BJP is making blunders after blunder. It all started with expulsion with Jaswantji, decision which has not gone well with the party followers and the people at large. The present leadership is keen in running the party with a iron fist and insulting some of its key senior leaders who presented the party wit a moderate face to the people. Power struggle and factional politics among hardliners and moderates continues till elimination and execution. Advani seems to have lost command and control over the party.
Arrogance and insult is not accepted well by Indian people. Unfortunately, both the parties are toeing that path.
At the outset, Congress would gain substantially and would be voted back to power with substantial margin. People have no other choice.
BJP and Sena have lost much of their political relevance and credibility at their present form and are in no position to encash on the any anti-incumbancy whatsoever.

Some suggestions
(1) Effective camapign: To attract you, we should project our best faces forward. The BJP should project Poonam Mahajan and Rahul Mahajan as the CM and Deputy CM candidates. Also, to emphasize the BJP’s ability of good governance and in line with tradition set in the last Lok Sabha election, Narendra Modi should lead the campaign
(2) Inclusiveness: For a start, the BJP should explore alliance with RPI (Athawale), SP (who is looking to grow in Maharashtra). The BJP can ensure support of the local population by going with the Shiv Sena suggestion of a full reservation for SSC boards in local colleges.
(3) Development: To give a boost to construction industry, there can be a new sea-link between Bandra and Versova. Additionally, FSI should be increased to 8 so that new houses are available in unused lands. To solve the hunger problem, the BJP-SS can re-start the old Junka Bhakar kendras. And to solve the drought problem in Vidarbha, maybe a Gangajal river plan can be promised.
(4) Local pride: Every building, road, park, school and airport should be named after the three Great Maratha leaders: Shivaji, Sawarkar, Tilak. So, for example, Marine Drive should be Shivaji 1, then Pedder Road could be Sawarkar 1, leading to Worli which is Tilak 1. After that, one can have Shivaji 2, Sawarkar 2, etc
(5) Security: To make Maharashtra safe and bhaya-mukt, there should be identity cards for everybody. In parallel, it can win over migrants by making all hutments and encorachments upto 30-Sep-2009 legal if they can pass a Marathi proficiency test

All is OK, but for GOD’s sake:Please dont commit the big blunder of roping in Narendra Modi.
He is a failed personality in Indian politics and the heavy baggage that he carries with him of the 2002 riots will always haunt and scare away people. So, it is welcome to keep him caged and confined within his state of Gujrat. He is good CM there but his image is unacceptable outside Gujrat.

The Popolarity of Shivsena and bal thackrey is known to all in todays date. Bal Thackrey is no more Hindu Hrudav Samrat he is Marathi Manus promoter and lost his ground in Marathis as well.
Raj Thackrey is another flop leader from Maharshtra. It will be good for BJP to go alone in Maharashtra Elections.
There are Plenty Of Young and Talented Leaders in BJP from Gondia,Nagpur,Amravati,Akola,Bhusawal,Nashik,Kalyan,Ulhasnagar,Navi Mumbai,Satara,Sangli,Kolhapur,Aurangabad,Karad,Kokan and Interior parts of Maharashtra.
People of Maharashtra are fed up from Congress/NCP/Shivsena/MNS/RPI/BSP.

BJP needs to use its experiences from Karnataka, MP, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Bihar, Jharkhand, HP, and UK. And if required should go alone in Maharashtra, it may not come to power immediately, but that will help in the long run. The days of coalition parties seem numbered, people are tired of them, they want to hold somebody accountable for their woes.

Its funny you mention the reason “dismal performance” as a weakness of the congress government. I think you are new to indian elections. That is not a weakness, that is a strength for winning… hahaha .. not a joke… however I completely understand that this is all you can write so that BJP is at least not completely wiped out in maharashtra… so that It can atleast be in opposition rather than on roads… sad but seems true

i fully subscribe to shouries view. rss needs to dismiss entire top brass of bjp and hand it over to a new generation, only way to revive the credibility. even hardcore supporters are very much confused and disoriented by the activities of the so called “core group”. there is very little credibility left out there. even if bjp wins a election after this it will be because congress has lost.
MAHARASTRA has urban and rural what i feel both are quite different in party and politics.
Please do not forget our old friends. Let Udhav stay in Shiv Sena. Take Raj in BJP he is a loyal nephew of Bala Shab whatever he did was due to frustation. sometime these people can be better leader if supported and shown path. there are many groups in Mumbai go to them include them.

The Shiv Sena is slipping very badly, and with the congress bank-rolling MNS (financially and otherwise), despite the dismal performance of the NCP - Congress govt in Mahrashtra, there is a chance that they might come back. BJP needs to present a new face to the people (change over 50% of its candidates and nominate young dynamic, educated people from all its seats. It also needs to pray that NCP and Congress fall out with each other, and somehow ensure that the Raj Thakeray factor, as seen in the last Lok Sabha elections is neutralized. If this means that they need to have an independent alliance with MNS from within their quota of seats, then so be it.
Also, for god’s sake, get the seat distribution between SS and BJP right, don’t delay it, and announce candidates well in advance, and guess what, the clock is already ticking!
If the pathetic current government is allowed to come back, it would be a travesty.
Anti-Sardar Patel book sold from RSS HQ in Gujarat
AHMEDABAD: Narendra Modi displayed great alacrity in banning Jaswant Singh’s Jinnah book in Gujarat. But another such tome, authored by RSS ideologue H V Seshadri, which also slams Sardar Patel for precipitating Partition, has been in circulation for the last 27 years. And here’s the icing on the cake: the book’s sold from the RSS headquarters complex in Gujarat!
There’s little chance that Modi would not have known of the book since Modi was a regular at the place. Modi spent over 13 years as a `pracharak’ ^ from 1967 to 1980 ^ in the same building, though the book was published after that, in 1982. But as a voracious reader, old-timers recall, Modi devoured most Sangh publications.
The book, `The Tragic Story of Partition’ has unflattering references to Nehru and Patel. Seshadri clubs both and holds them responsible for partition, which is what Jaswant Singh has done in his book, `Jinnah: India, Independence, Partition’.
It’s still selling at the Sahitya Sadhana Trust, which is part of the RSS HQ complex. A TOI reporter picked up a copy on Tuesday for Rs 100.
It’s now learnt that Modi has told his officials to closely scrutinise Seshadri’s book to thwart legal challenges. Unconfirmed reports have said Jaswant himself is planning to go to court to oppose the ban.
If he does, Seshadri’s book, which has been quoted by BJP leader Arun Shourie to ridicule the ban, will be the main argument of the petitioner. Seshadri’s book has sold thousands of copies in Gujarat in the last 27 years; it’s a must-have for any RSS worker.
“This book talks about the importance of `Akhand Bharat’. It’s an immensely important thesis for Sangh’s ideology,” says Prof Hemant Shah, who teaches political science at Gujarat University.
Excerpts: “When the new Viceroy Lord Mountbatten announced on 3rd June 1947 the plan of transfer of power, it came as a stunning blow to the people. For that plan, approved by Nehru and Patel, had envisaged cutting up Bharat and creation of Pakistan! … The great and trusted leaders of Congress had turned their back on the sacred oaths they had taken, and the pledges they had administered to the people. What took place on the August 15-15, 1947, was this gross betrayal of the nation’s faith, the betrayal of the dreams of countless fighters and martyrs who had plunged into the fire of freedom struggle with the vision of Akhand Bharat in their hearts.”
On another page, Seshadri writes: “The Working Committee met in a tense atmosphere. Everybody felt depressed at the prospect of Partition. The Viceroy’s proposals were accepted without much discussion. As a matter of fact, Jawaharlal and Vallabhai were already committed to the acceptance of the proposals. There was no critical examination…”

Before indipendence there was only two parties INC & Muslim League. All Indian were supporting INC while some were supporting ML.

I am a sincere sympathizer of the BJP, hence this negative tone in my comments. And I am sorry but there is no other way to digest this bitter pill.
BJP’s media management team should either be fired or revamped immediately. In all these years, the party has yet to start or develop a high-reach and influential pro-BJP television channel or newspaper (except the tiny Daily Pioneer) among other media vehicles, whether it’s in India or outside.
I myself have tried to get in touch with BJP’s media cell a few times on my various trips to India within the past three years, but with no success. The few individuals that I did manage to speak to came across as typical Indian government employees; IGNORANT, UNCONCERNED and UNRESPONSIVE.
The party management obviously doesn’t seem to understand the importance of media, communications and networking for political and national success.
Are the folks running the media cell friends of the BJP? I believe that this is a very serious issue that has cost the BJP many national and state elections so far. It’s image within India and outside has taken a beating time and again inspite of it’s good intentions.
TO THE BJP….Firstly, please develop or redevelop a proper think-tank before it’s too late. And when I say THINK-TANK, I mean a PROPER THINK-TANK, not an apology for a think-tank.
Secondly, please CHANNELIZE all this pro-BJP energy coming in from various quarters systematically and sensibly; else, this ENTIRE “Friends of BJP” exercise will be in vain and become the butt of jokes in the media like “India Shining” did. I personally believe in the sincerity and potential of “Friends of BJP”, and hence would not want this to happen. Also because failure is not an option.
THE BOTTOMLINE SUGGESTION WITH RESPECT TO DEVELOPING CLOUT WITHIN THE MEDIA — “KARO YA MARO”. AND IT’S NOW OR NEVER.

आप में से कुछ को ऐसा लग रहा है की भाजपा की हार की वजह मीडिया है ! ये निहायत ही बचकानी सोच है ! आज के ज़माने में जहाँ समाचार मिलने के इतने सारे माध्यम हैं, वहां किसी मीडिया group की वजह से सब जनता प्रभावित होकर गई है , ऐसा सोचना मूर्खता है ! समाचार पत्र , लेख इत्यादि लिखित माध्यम हैं…..लोग पढ़ कर प्रभावित हो सकते हैं, लेकिन टीवी पे हम सब देख सकते हैं…हमें किसी को बताने की ज़रुरत नहीं की गुजरात में क्या हुआ…हमने देखा, भाजपा के अध्यक्ष को घूस लेते हुए हमने देखा, कंदहार में terrorists को छोड़ते हुए हमने देखा, अरुण शौरी और अन्य नेता क्या कह रहें हैं हमने देखा/सुना !!! किसी के विश्लेषण सुनने की ज़रुरत नहीं है ! हम अपने विचार खुद बना सकते हैं……..जैसे सारे देश की जनता बनाती है जो टीवी देखती है !! अपने काम सुधारो और खामखाह मीडिया का रोना मत रो तो बेहतर होगा !!

यदि इस साईट को स्वस्थ बनाना है तो friends of bjp के लोगों को चाहिए की इसको बी बी सी हिंदी . कॉम की तर्ज़ पर बनाये .जैसा की उसमे दुनिया भर के सभी लोग अपनी निष्पक्ष राय किसी भी लेख पर रखते हैं .जो बी बी सी द्वारा पोस्ट किया जाता है .यह साईट अस्वस्थ ही नहीं बल्कि षडयंत्र का शिकार भी है .कोई कुछ भी पोस्ट कर रहा है जो विषय या लेख से सम्बन्धित नहीं है .यह अस्वस्थ तरीका है .
I think the biggest problem with the BJP is that its has not offered a idea for people to rally behind and hence it should look for the same. Some suggestion for maharastra is that:
1) Plan a startegy to reclaim mumbai
2) Sick on to shiva-sena for now
3) There is gou-gram yatra planned from vijaydasami from haryana, BJP should support this movement to bring about rural upliftment and get the support of rural folks.
4) All of sudden everyone feels that for terrorrism congress need not be blamed. Work overtime to change this
5) Tell people of maharastra if you are casting your vote for MNS you are directly supporting congress
6) Plan a seperate package for vidarbha
Why noone is speaking about Gopinath Munde? Does FoB even know that Gopinath munde has won all the seats he campained in maharashtra? This is irony of BJP. FoB would talk at lengths about dwarfed leaders like aryn jaitly and rajnath singh, but a grasroot leader having a brollient electoral record is ignored just because he is out of favour for RSS. Or that he is not bite happy like ullu BJP leaders sitting in delhi.
You people blame loss of BJP to media, but how come Gopinath Munde manages to win elections after election in a hostile state (for BJP) like maharashtra without being visible on TV? FoB is a bunch of so called intellectuals forming their opinions from ivory towers. They would never understand what grasroot support is and how it is garnered. BJP shall learn it from Congress. instead of doing it, the top leadership is busy edging out such leaders. If they continue it , BJp is as dead as Sitaram Kesari’s congress.

Indian voters saved their nation from disgrace last elections. Had it been otherwise, a liar, a lofer would have become further tarnishing the country. India got much better choice.
It is wise to be slightly optimistic about BJP-Shivsena coming back to power in Maharahstra. For one, the congress cannot ignore NCP and Sharad Pawar in Maharashtra despite the NCP being at an all time low, which was evident in the parliament elections.
The congress is commiting the same blunder that they did with SP, though fortuitously they did not really lose much in the ensuing elections. Sharad Pawar and NCP are a different ball game altogether.The MNS and Raj exhausted their orchestrated campaigns to garner some marathi votes, I dont think their ploy will work this time. Unless the BJP Shivsena does something really stupid , they should win this election, the anti establishment vote is strong here.

मुद्दे तो पिछले महाराष्ट्र के पिछले विधान सभा चुनाव में भी वही थे जो आज हैं जैसे —बीजली ,किसानो की आत्महत्या का मुद्दा ,महंगाई ,भ्रष्टाचार ,आदिवासी बच्चों के कुपोषण का मुद्दा आदि आदि .लेकिन फिर भी कांग्रेस–एन सी पी की जीत हुई थी .इसलिए मुद्दों के साथ-साथ चुनावी गणित पर भी बीजेपी–शिव सेना विशेष ध्यान देने की जरुरत है .
महाराष्ट्र में रहने वालों को कांग्रेस महाराष्ट्रियन नहीं कहती या समझती हैं .जबकि सभी मुद्दे समान रूप से कुछ कम या ज्यादा मराठियों को प्रभावित करती हैं , उसे अलग -अलग बांटकर संबोधित करती है .जैसे — धर्म के आधार मुसलमानों को संबोधित करना हो तो उसे अल्पसंख्यक ,उत्तर भारतियों के लिए उत्तर भारतीय ,गुजरातियों के लिए गुजरती,हिन्दुओं को यदि जाती में बांटना हो तो उसे –अगड़ा ,पिछड़ा ,दलित ,ब्राह्मण ,मराठा ,कोंकणी आदि आदि के आधार पर संबोधित करती है .इसलिए वह बड़ी चालाकी से वह कहती फिरती है की वह सबकी है ,जबकि वह जातियों के आधार पर बांटकर सबको संबोधित करती है और अपनी झोली वोट से भरती है . फिर भी वह महान धर्मनिरपेक्ष पार्टी कहलाती है .और इस देश की महान धर्म निरपेक्ष मीडिया जो हमेशा धर्मनिरपेक्षता का उपदेश देती और ढिंढोरा पिटती रहती है वह भी कांग्रेस को धर्मनिरपेक्षता का मैडल देने में कोई संकोच नहीं करती .जबकि महाराष्ट्र में रहने वालों के लिए महाराष्ट्रियन ही संबोधित करना चाहिए न की जाती धर्म और प्रान्त .कांग्रेस का असली खेल हरेक चुनाव में यही रहता है .मुद्दे उसे इसलिए अब प्रभावित नहीं करते .
राज ठाकरे और शिव सेना का उत्तर भारतियों के साथ विवाद है .यह दोनों पार्टियाँ सभी को महाराष्ट्र में रहने वालों को मराठी समझती है और समझना चाहती है .लेकिन कांग्रेस उत्तरभारतीयों को हमेशा उत्तर भारतीय की पैंट से रंगते रहती है और उसे उत्तर भारतीय ही देखना और समझना चाहती है ताकी प्रांतवाद के आधार पर वह अपना स्वार्थ सिद्ध कर करती रहे और उसे उत्तर भारतियों का वोट मिलता रहे .वह प्रांतीयता के अहम् को तुष्ट करने का खेल करती है और कुछ नहीं . यह प्रांतीयता को बढावा देना ही है .फिर भी वह महान धर्मनिरपेक्ष पार्टी कहलाती है .
यदि मेरे इस तर्क पर किसी को कोई आपत्ति हो तो अपनी प्रातक्रिया दें .

only reason i may want the bjp-ss combine to win is because congress will be substantially weakened after loss of a major state. but the alliance of ss and bjp is essentially an opportunistic alliance only for achieving power. i don’t see any ideological similarity . bal thakarey and all his clan members are much more evil than congress. these people are willing to do anything for their own good . if i am right they are the worst of all current political dynasties like ..gandhi,karunas,gowdas….

I hope people would have seen the interview yesterday on Times Now with arnab and ravi shankar prasad. Prasad handled the situation very well. I think there should couple of people like ravi shankar prasad only handling media. World respects and follows u when you are confident and know to handle situation.
Ravi Shankar Prasad was good with Arnab. In the subsequent show Manish Tiwari of Congress behaved with Tarun Vijay as if he was anchor as Editor-in- Chief of Times Now channel.On NDTV show yesterday it was quite visible that congress party has got new spokesperson on form of Shekhar Gupta.He has reduced credibility of Indian Express since he took over as its editor. “Journalism of Courage” & “Flame of Hope” has become”sick”ular.I would request all BJP spokesmen to adopt Ravi’s strategy.
If NCP-Congress ties break up,BJP will win automatically.
The main problem today is BJP does not have a media cell at all!

I agree completely with Madhusudan, the english media, especially the electronic media is behaving like the mouth piece of the congress- it was evident during post election results, they potrayed as if the congress had won a record margin,whereas it clearly was evident that they barely scraped through with a slender majority. People like Arunab Goswami talk and behave as if they hold the moral authority to question, discuss and analyze anything and everything in the name of responsible journalism. In every session, they are behaving as if something really wrong is happening in the BJP, this is a natural process that is taking place- look at the way the congress went through so many upheavals post 1991 - when PV took over- they still ran the country.After congress lost power- there were also rumblings but the difference being the gandhi family- the country still is fascinated by the gandhi family. The way the gandhi family stabilized the congress in recent years, the RSS is the only factor that can stabililze the BJP.All said and done, the BJP is a party that derives its organizational strength from the RSS and the sangh parivar. The BJP also needs to be a bit more media savy- not that it will directly affect their chances- but just that every small and normal issue that is faced by them will not be magnified by the stupid media and potrayed as if the BJP is going to disintegrate sooner than later. The BJP will emerge stronger , am sure- as Sri Bhagwatji mentioned, get 4-5 leaders from each state to build the party- regional satraps like Shivraj Chouhan, Yeduyirappa, Raman Singh should play a more important role, today these positions are occupied by people like Venkaiah Naidu ( till some time backby JSingh, Y Sinha, AShourie). They need people who understand the problems of the people and have first hand experience. Giving prominence to people like Sudeheendra Kulkarni, Yashwant Sinha, Jaswant singh and Arun shourie will not help it in the long run.
I feel a peoples’ revolution needs to be started to remedy the hooliganism going on in the name of media and 24×7 journalism.
The freedom of press is being misused by the 24×7 tv channels to run and propaganda and mould peoples’ mind.
It is evident as things have come to a change from the days of doordarshan.
Why should not be the reporting of an event just as it is be the news? Why they be allowed to package it with their own opinions and masala?
Just run a story as scripted by a few journalist as to their mind and run it with selected and edited video and audio clips throughout the day every half and hour sometimes even for days together.
Doesn’t this play a role in moulding peoples’ mind and psyche in a particular way as one desires? Shouldn’t this be stopped now?
This can in no way be freedom of press or journalism par se.

I have two simple questions for you to which I expect a frank answer from you with logical backing:
Question No.1>Who do you think should be the Best and Effective person to head the BJP as its next President? Please name one person who would be the best as per your reading.
Question No.2>Should BJP allow its spokespersons to appear in the talkshows and debates arranged by 24×7 Private English TV News Channels as NDTV, CNN-IBN, Times Now and Headlines Today where their anchors- Prannoy Roy, Barkha Dutt, Vikram Chanda, Rajdeep Sardesai, Arnab Goswami teamed with their pro-congress colleagues in journalist fraternity as Vinod Mehta of Outlook, Shekhar Gupta of India Express and Paranjoy Guha Thakurta a columinst all team up and insult BJP and their leaders? Is there no way to avoid these four media houses? Can’t the BJP command their partymen not answer and react to questions put by any anchor/reporter belonging to these four media houses? These people would suffocate and die if BJP partymen like Ravishankar Prasad, Chandan Mitra, Nalin Kohli, Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Swapan Dasgupta turn down all invitations from these four channels.
Krishnaji, I feel you may have noticed as to how these four channels are gasping for breath as no BJP leader is opeining their mouth and responding to their questions.
These channels should told firmly that any questions they have should be only answered in a party press conference as and when it is arranged. No questions would be answered except in a authorised press conference. Also, no BJP spokesperson would be allowed to take part in any talkshow or debate of these four channels.
Finally, a categorical notice should issued by the BJP HQ that any views expressed by a person pretending to be BJP spokesperson appearing in this show has no relevance to the party and the party does not condone or associate itself with any such views as that of the party that is expressed by any person outside a authorised press conference held and arranged by BJP.

BJP should have by now filed a defamation suit against Times Now Arnab Goswami, Navika Kumar Manish Tiwari and Vinod Mehta and Jaswant Singh and others for that malicious programme on Vote for cash in July. I have a hunch that crook Amar Singh is behind the whole thing. He is bent on splitting the BJP and taking members enmasse so that SP becomes the next largest party and thereby a pan-Indian party also.

Some tv anchors and congress spokespersons are so enthusiastic and have jumped in to this discourse as if they are saints and puritans. The sheer personalities of some those who appear on screen makes one nauseatic. How can they nail a lie when they tell lies 24×7?
Advani is a senior politician whatever may be his ideology and style of politics he is not a liar. How can the government allow TV Channels to demean and insult such senior politician with derogatory remarks uttered open in public and broadcast throughout India? Should not some severe action be taken against these media houses? How could they gain right to insult a senior politician publicly based on their fictitious stories?

आज के तकनीकी और आधुनिक युग में जिस तरह देश के साथ साथ लोग आधुनिक होते जा रहे हैं उस लिहाज से बीजेपी का अगला अध्यक्ष अरुण जेटली जी को ही बनाया जाना चाहिए .कारण इनका पूरा व्यक्तित्व , चेहरा आकर्षक और आधुनिक होना ,कानूनविद होना ,अच्छा वक्ता होना ,तर्कपूर्ण तरीके से किसी भी विषय पर बहस करना , तर्कों के साथ किसी भी सवाल का जवाब देना ,विभिन् पदों पर काम का अनुभव होना ,चुनावी रणनीति बनाने का अनुभव होना आदि इनके गुण हैं . इसलिए आज के युवा इनके प्रति आकर्षित हैं . मुझे लगता है आज के आधुनिक युग में आज के युवाओं के आकाँक्षाओं की पूर्ति करने में अरुण जेटली जी खरे उतर सकते हैं.
जितने भी चैनलों के नाम आपने लिए हैं ये सभी मैं प्रायः नहीं देखता ,लेकिन जानता जरुर हूँ की ये सभी चैनल्स पक्षपाती हैं .इनके इसी रवैये के कारण मैं आज कल बी बी सी हिंदी न्यूज़ इन्टरनेट पर सुनता हूँ ( मैं १५ साल की उम्र से ही बी बी सी हिंदी का श्रोता रहा हूँ ,बीच के कुछ वर्षों को छोड़कर ). क्योंकि पत्रकारिता के मामले में यह एक आदर्श न्यूज़ स्टेशन है .बी बी सी के मुकाबले भारत के जितने भी टीवी न्यूज़ चैनल्स हैं चाहे वो हिंदी हो या इंग्लिश कहीं नहीं ठहरते . क्योंकि पक्षपातपूर्ण रवैये के कारण इन चैनलों ने अपनी विश्वनीयता खो दी है .इनकी भाषा पर भी मुझे घोर आपत्ति है जो बीजेपी के लिए कभी-कभी ये इस्तमाल खुद करते हैं और कभी-कभी विरोधी दल के नेता या पत्रकार को इस्तमाल करने की अनुमति देते हैं.यह नहीं होना चाहिए .बी बी सी हिंदी न्यूज़ में ऐसा नहीं होता .इन टीवी न्यूज़ चैनलों को यह नहीं मालूम की कितने ही दर्शक टीवी न्यूज़ देखना और सुनना आजकल बंद कर दिया है .इन्हे यह भ्रम हो गया है की पूरी दुनिया इनको देखना और सुनना पसंद करती है .कोई भी सभ्य परिवार का व्यक्ति अपने परिवार के साथ टीवी न्यूज़ देखना पसंद नहीं करता .
रहा सवाल बीजेपी नेताओं को इन चैनलों के कार्यक्रमों में भाग लेने की बात तो इनकी चौकड़ी बीजेपी के आमंत्रित नेता को घेरने में कोई कमी नहीं छोड़ती .जबकि होना यह चाहिए की जब भी इन चैनलों द्वारा बीजेपी नेता या प्रवक्ता आमंत्रित किये जाते हैं दोनों पक्ष के लोग बराबर होने चाहिए .यदि चैनल की तरफ से दो एंकर हैं और कांग्रेस का एक आमंत्रित नेता तो बीजेपी के भी कम से कम दो नेता होने चाहिए .ताकि इन तीनो का मुकाबला बीजेपी कर सके . होता यह है की तीनो मिलकर बीजेपी प्रवक्ता या नेता पर पिल पड़ते हैं . यह पक्षपातपूर्ण रवैया है .इसके बारे में बीजेपी नेताओं को तय करना चाहिए और चैनलों से शर्त भी रखनी चाहिए .
प्रेस कांफ्रेंस में पार्टी द्वारा किसी घटना विशेष के सवालों का जवाब दिया जाता है .किसी मुद्दे पर बहस के लिए तो उन्हें चैनलों में जाना ही पड़ेगा .उन्हें जाना भी चाहिए .लेकिन विषय की पूर्ण जानकारी लेकर , दूसरे विरोधी पक्ष के नेता या प्रवक्ता की जानकारी लेकर अपनी रणनीति बनाकर और अपनी शर्तों पर (मुझे नहीं मालूम की न्यूज़ चैनल्स के काम काज करने का तरीका क्या है ).
सबसे पहली बात यह है की जो भी प्रवक्ता या नेता किसी बहस में भाग लेते हैं और कोई विवादास्पद टिपण्णी कर जाते हैं , जो पार्टी लाइन से हटकर होती है उसकी जिम्मेदारी पार्टी पर ही होती है .ऐसी टिपण्णी या बयान नहीं होना चाहिए .क्योंकि यह पार्टी लाइन समझी जाती है .इसलिए इसपर प्रवक्ता और नेता को विशेष ध्यान देना चाहिए की वो क्या बोले रहे हैं .
इसलिए इस समस्या को दूर करने का एक ही उपाय है की जो भी प्रवक्ता या नेता किसी बहस में हिस्सा ले वह उस विषय का पूरा जानकार हो .इस बात का पूरा ख्याल रखना होगा .वर्ना जनता और दशकों की नज़र में पार्टी की ही किरकिरी ही होती है

मेरे पसंदीदा न्यूज़ चैनल्स –बी बी सी हिंदी रेडियो ,जी न्यूज़ और इंडिया टीवी का रजत शर्मा जी का “आप की अदालत ” कार्यक्रम .अब आप यह सोचते होंगे की इतने बड़े-बड़े न्यूज़ चैनल्स के मुकाबले आखिर ये चैनल्स क्यों पसंद हैं ? इसका कारण यह है की ये भारत और भारतीयता के करीब हैं .और ये चैनल्स इन सब विवादों से दूर हैं जिसका जिक्र मैंने ऊपर किया है .बी बी सी हिंदी रेडियो विदेशी रेडियो स्टेशन होते हुए भी भारतीय ज्यादा लगता है .

The denomination of states based on language was a logical fallout for creating groups small manageable units called states.
To read any malicious intent in it would be futile!
Although to create a regional unit which openly caters, cares and supports locals only is completely malicious and against the social fabric of our nation!

इस लोक सभा चुनाव में जनता ने खुद क्षेत्रीय पार्टियों को रिजेक्ट कर दिया .जैसे समाजवादी पार्टी ,राजद ,लोकतान्त्रिक जनमोर्चा ,बसपा आदि इसका कारण इनके नेताओं की विश्वनीयता और अकार्यक्षमता थी .जब भी राष्ट्रीय पार्टियाँ किसी प्रदेश की जनता की आकाँक्षाओं पर खरा नहीं उतरती तभी क्षेत्रीय पार्टियों का उदय होता है .जैसा की देश भर में हुआ है .ऐसी क्षेत्रीय पार्टियों के चंगुल से निकलना इतना आसान नहीं है .इसलिए राष्ट्रीय दलों को अपना जनाधार बढाने के लिए मंडल स्तर तक सक्रिय होना होगा और जनता में अपने कार्यों के जरिये पैठ बनानी होगी तभी राष्ट्रीय पार्टियाँ अपना खोया जनाधार पा सकती हैं .यह अभी होता दिखता नहीं है .इस कार्य में समय लगेगा .तब तक तो क्षेत्रीय दलों का साथ राष्ट्रीय दलों को लेना ही होगा .
क्षेत्रीय दल अपनी क्षेत्रीय पहचान बढाने और अपने प्रदेश का विकास करने के चक्कर में कभी कभी ये देश के हितों को नज़रंदाज़ कर जाते हैं और राष्ट्रीय दलों पर गैजरुरी दबाव बनाते हैं . और कभी कभी ये राष्ट्रीय दलों को ब्लैकमेल करने से भी नहीं चुकते .यही इनके साथ बड़ी दिक्कत है .
जहाँ तक शिव सेना के साथ बीजेपी के गठबंधन का सवाल है .इनके साथ इस तरह की कोई दिक्कत नहीं है .आप इस बात के लिए निश्चिंत रहें .
Media has demonized BJP for several months and BJP needs to wakeup from slumber and stop these insults. There is a saying that barking dogs seldom bite. So all this barking by the Media and their demonizing BJP at every instance can be compared to barking dogs. BJP is like an elephant who is majestic infront of the barking Media dogs. Some great people has served this party and great people will serve in future. They don’t have the mentality of congress people who support the dynasty rule of Gandhis and they don’t have the sycophancy following of congress supporters. Truely speaking Media has won the elections for the congress party.
Mr.Pingley, here are the things congress is doing to India.
a) The appease minorities, which is absolutely unfair to majority Hindus. Their minority appeasement is beyond the limits.
b) They are allowing illegal immigration from Bangladesh which is a serious threat to India and the people of India
c) They are perpetuating Gandhi dynasty in India which is again a serious threat to India
d) Every project, every road, every bridge, every airport , every scheme is getting named after Gandhi which is a serious diminution of other great leaders in India.
e) Because of the egoes of Nehru who is a congress leader India suffered partition.
f) Because of Congress, India is suffering with the problems of Kashmir and Arunchal Pradesh
g) They don’t have a clear foreign policy .
h) Their spending of public money irresponsibly is pushing India’s debt further and further
i) India is becoming a pseudo secular country gradually under congress rule .
I want to be BJP’s seniormost leader anyhow, it’s my lifelong ambition.

a) Could you please give any example of UNCONSTITUTIONAL activities undertaken by Congress to appease minorities?
Congress does not want to make India a FACIST (majority is always right) country.
Here is an example, in my society Ganesh-utsav is allowed in common area but Namaz during Ramadan is not allowed. This is UNFORTUNATE majority bias!
b) This is a silly argument to say that Congress is allowing them in!
Even with the most sophisticated technology the US borders are the most porous for the oncoming Latin illegal immigrants!
No government will like to increase it own headache.
c) I dont understand how does it matter to anyone else how Congress party runs its house, but I shall try and reply politely,

e) Please correct your interpretation of the history. The only options we had were Cabinet Mission plan and Partition. thru CM plan we would not have remain India what u see today. Instead we woud have been about 14+ different countries.

Whatever you may say, this is not a congress v/s BJP site, so please reserve your comments for some other forum. Here constructive inputs are given to make BJP a better party. Discussing the shortcomings or the strengths of congress is not the topic of discussion here I presume.

Here are the things that congress has done to appease minorities to a great extent.
a)A truely secular country maintains equidistance from all religions . The principle of seperation of state from the religion is followed in almost all the western countries like U.K, U.S.A, Canada, Austrailia,france, germany and other european countries.
b) After congress came to power, they have allowed Madrassas to be set up in the country indiscriminately. The number is alarmingly high. There is no need to allow these many madrassas which are not producing intellectuals to the society but producing fanatics who are found indulging in criminal activities and anti-national activities. Hyderabad has become a hub to such activities and the congress government in A.P , ignores to take action agains people like Owaisi and supports him who is found many times breaking the law, threatening police officials and law enforcement agencies. It is the minority appeasement policy that stops them from taking action against such people.
c) Every body knows that Aurangazeb has destroyed so many temples , imposed Jiziya tax and ruthlessly imposed Islam on Hindus. Congress bans people from presenting the real truth about him when some honest people present his activities in the form of art.
d) Congress government doesn’t want to provide security to Tasleema Nasreen as she spoke for the Hindus in Bangladesh as they don’t want to become subjected to anger of Islamic fundamentalists.
e) Sonia Gandhi has given special privilege and treatment to the Rubina and Azaruddin who acted in Slum dog millionare because they belong to Muslim community. She didn’t give this kind of treatment all other kids in the movie.
f) First of all Nehru’s philosophy has failed miserably on the key issues of Kashmir and Tibet and there is no point in continuing with this philosophy. Neither the Hindi-Chini bhai bhai nor the panchaseel has done any good for the country. India faced defeat in 1962 because of Nehru’s denial of the ground facts with china and misleading Indian parliament by making false statements like “Aksai Chin is of no use to the country as not a single blade of grass grows there”.
g)Illegal immigration from Bangladesh is a seriou problem in N.E states of India. Assam , Tripura, Mizoram are becoming hub for Illegal immigration from Bangladesh. Instead of throwing them out of country, India is providing citizenship and giving privileges to this people. It was in NDA government Border fencing with Bangladesh started and even now UPA government couldn’t finish it.
h) Minority appeasement policies like Haj subsidies, white ration cards to muslims, MPLB for muslims should be removed. Muslims should have the same laws like Hindus. They shouldn’t be allowed to take advantage of the special laws granted to them by marrying people at will and divorcing them as they want by the triple Talaq system . Uniform civil code must be seriously implemented in India stopping all the special treatment to minorities. I seriously doubt Congress will implement Uniform civil code.
i) In the name of secularim, congress should stop harassing Hindus and play with the status quo of India. India is a Hindu majority country and no dubious policies should be practised by congress to change it to remove that status .
Congress government in A.P has taken the unconstitional step of granting 4% of jobs and reservations to Muslims . They have taken this 4% from the OBC category.
In order to truely uplift the muslims, muslim children should be allowed to goto the same school Hindus are going, bring them into the main stream, educate them in science, engineering, medicine instead of sending them to Madrassas.
Gandhi may be a great leader who practiced celibacy, who fasted so much and who was instrumental in getting rid of Britishers. However, he has his own failures in the form of partition of India and he couldn’t resolve the Hindu-muslim conflicts in any feasible way. His appeasement of muslims during the partition is well known to intellectuals . A great leader like him should have given equal treatment to both Hindus and Muslims instead of appeasing one group of people over the other.
Also, a dynasty rule always ends up in misuse of power. Congress is thoroughly misusing the power by naming every thing after Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi.
Also, just because you are a descendant of Gandhi, you automatically don’t inherit the thrown to rule the country. Only in dynasty rule this kind of autocracy happens and unfortunately any descendant of Gandhi automatically is inherting the power and position in India. Any person should truely show his skills and work on his own to create a position for himself rather than using Gandhi’s name.
Finally, Gandhi is not the only leader responible for freedom of India. There are other leaders like Bhagat Singh, Subash Chandra bose , Alluri Sita Rama Raju who have embraced death for freeing mother India from the clutches of British.
We should also not forget the sacrifices of Jhansi Rani, Tantia Tope and freedom fighters of first war of Independence.Unfortunately congress doesn’t recoginize these stalwarts except Gandhi.

Congress created the ministry of minority affairs created in 2006. The ministry’s 2009-2010 budget has an outlay of Rs. 1000 crores for various educational and skills development scholarships for minorities. In addition to this there is the National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation with a current outlay of Rs. 850 crores whose function is to provide loans to religious minorities. Other sorts of appeasement to name a few include Haj subsidy (Rs. 700 crores in 2008), Madrassa funding, earmarking of funds for development of districts selected on the basis of concentration of population of the minorities (2007-08 Indian budget), and Article 30 which allows minorities to establish and administer educational institutions while receiving government funding where as majorities would have to face significant government interference in the administration. In the 2009-2010 budget the West Bengal state government alone allocated Rs. 525 crores most of which was for upgradation of 199 madrasas, and the Aliah University. In comparison the higher education department of that state received Rs. 149 crores and the money allocated for education in 50,000 schools was merely Rs. 1093 crores! If this is for one state the total funds provided for Madrasas by the central and state government will certainly be a high figure. No modern secular country in the world provides special benefits to its religious groups. Why should India? The Sachar report concluded that that Muslims on average have a lower social and economic status than people from other religions; The Mandal report clearly brought out that there are lower castes among the Muslim and Christian community similar to the Hindu community. On this basis a case can be made for reservations to be extended to lower caste Muslims and Christians as well. In addition laws governing discrimination (including religious) can be strengthened and strictly enforced. These two actions can bring sustainable benefits to the minority community and are better “secular” options than appeasement of minorities which further deteriorates relations between the various religious groups. It is important for the BJP to provide this secular alternative to the minority appeasement policies of the Congress party and its allies. It is not adequate to merely denounce minority appeasement but provide secular solutions where minority communities lag behind as otherwise the BJP will be perceived as opposed to minority welfare. It should be an easy case to make that instead of pouring money into Madrassas why not upgrade government schools where students of all religions and castes can sit next to each other and get a secular education. If the BJP can genuinely communicate this ideal of equal opportunity and development of all Indians (including those from minority religions) it can overcome the divisive appeasement policies of the Congress. It is interesting to note that in spite of the appeasement policies the ruling government in West Bengal did not receive much support from minorities in the recent elections.

I would like to bring the urgent matter of “mismanagement of Hindu Temples” by various State Governments to your notice. Please bring this matter with appropriate people to do the needful to free up Hindu Temples from clutches of corrupt State Government(s). Particularly from the hands of anti-Hindu Governments in AP, Kerala, TN, WB, North Eastern States, UP, J & K, Delhi, Orissa and Maharastra.
As you know that, Indian Constitution guarantee “Religious Freedom” as a Fundamental Right to all of its Citizens. Some how State Government(s) taken over, control, manage and abuse Hindu Temples.
Denying Hindus of managing their own religious places puts them at disadvantage when compared to other faiths. The Secular Indian Constitution guarantee the fundamental right of “Religious Freedom” to all of its citizens. But the State Government(s) are denying this basic right to Hindus.
As per one estimate Rupees 100,000 Crore wealth belongs to Hindu Temples is controlled by State Governments and spend it on anti-Hindu activities. Rampant corruption (both material and moral) takes place in the Ministry that manages Hindu Temples.
If Hindus are given opportunity to manage their religious places(control over vast resources there of), they can do the following good works for the betterment of society.
1) Build and operate Hospitals
Can compete with other(s) in a healthy way
2) Build and operate Schools, Colleges and Universities
3) Build and operate social support institutions (such as aged homes, children homes, etc)
4) Gain valuable experience to run religious and social institutions
5) Protect and sustain the religious, social, cultural and economic well being of the faithful in this increasing competing world.
6) Brings moral order in the society
7) Brings responsibility to our youth
9) Brings prosperity all around.
10) Opportunities of gainful employment for millions of Hindu youth
One may ask, whom to handover and how to handover. There are several solutions to these questions. Ask the practicing Hindus to elect temple committees at Village, District, State and National level to manage Temples for 4 years term with 2 terms limit. People with Caste affiliations, political ambitions, immoral character, and corrupt are excluded from those committees.

Ram, excellent piece of evidence to prove the dubious acts of congress led governments in states like A.P, Maharashtra, J&K and at the central level.
Congress has peddled youth brigade, which is essentially gen-nex of the dynasty and its servants and I surely do not want BJP to put on the same dog and pony show for all just to prove that they also believe in “youth”
But BJP does need fresh perspective on issues facing the nation today and I believe the current leadership is out of sync with the new geo-political realities. The erstwhile leadership was needed when India was transitioning from dark ages brought in by Nehru Gandhi clan and to shake the hindu society of its complacence and unify it against daunting repelling forces of caste, language and regions. Advani, Vajpayee and other leaders of that era played a very crucial role but now they need to to give way to a new generation of leader who are in sync with emerging global equations and have strong understanding of global power equation, emerging world order, international terrorism, global economic currents along with the issues facing the nation like terrorism, lack of public infrastructure, governance and accountability.
I believe current set of tier I and II leadership of BJP lack people who fit the bill (and Congress does not definitely have anyone). Modi is better of the lot but not ideal. The party need to look outside of traditional pastures for such leaders…

Shiv sena offlate has become more of a rural party and so has the BJP. This is evident from the results of 14th lok sabha election.
The results were no doubt disappointing but they had a silver lining. Congress is losing in its bastions in marathwada regions where shivsena has made good break through, Mr. munde has also become very popular in the eastern maharastra regions.
BJP needs to re-assert itself to its urban middle class voters.
Despite the congress clean sweeping mumbai there was no celebrations amongst the voters, they too have realised the dubious choice they have made by re-electing the congress government.
This is a Do or Die situation for both shiv sena and BJP in maharastra, hope the rise up to the challenge.

I agree 100% on freeing temples from state govt. A secular government has no business controlling religious places of worship. I think BJP should start a Free Temple Yatra. I am sure most reasonable people will agree to this.

ALARMING NEWS ON THE ISSUE OF EXTERNAL SECURITY
Let the BJP and others make nation-wide agitations regarding this matter. In matters of China, we seem to be following hush-hush policy and scared of annoying the Chinese. This is going to be disastrous. There should be open debate within our country on whether we are strong enough to fight China.

The Chinese troops entered nearly 1.5 kilometres into the Indian territory near Mount Gya, recognised as International border by India and China, and painted the boulders and rocks with red spray paint, official sources said.
The incursions were reported from the area, generally referred in the Chumar sector in east of Leh, and painted “China” in Cantonese with Red spray paint all over the boulders and rocks, they said.
The 22,420 ft Mount Gya, also known as “fair princess of snow” by Army is located at the tri-junction of Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir, Spiti in Himachal Pradesh, and Tibet. Its boundary was marked during the British era and regarded as International border by the two countries.
The border patrol discovered the red paint markings on various rocks and boulders along the Zulung La (pass) on July 31 and the Chinese had entered into the area and written “China” and “China” all over the place, the sources said.
When asked to comment on the issue, an Army spokesperson declined to answer any queries regarding this saying it was an operational matter.)
I guess one of the main issue is drought, so many farmers have committed suicide and nothing much has been done either by the maratha strong man sharad pawar who holds the portfolio of Agriculture or the state govt led by Congress. BJP-SS should look to counter MNS factor, mebbe get into some sort of understanding so that they dont eat into their votes . Security is another prime reason, mumbai has witnessed so many problems whenever Congress-NCP comes into power. I guess they should project someone like Gopinath Munde, who is a mass man for the elections than someone from SS.
Fake Encounters - is a terms that is used to indicate death of individuals by the Police. While no one in their right senses would agree with such high-handedness, what is completely surprising the focus on Fake Encounters in Gujarat - what about the encounters that happened in Punjab right through the 1980s and the early 1990’s ? What about the encounters in J&K for over 2and a half decades and what about the North East.
How come no one talks about them and the role of the Government of these states - anything to do with the fact that there could be a Congress Government involved in these atrocities?
Kudos and congrats to BJP for taking up this very important issue when the Congress is still trying to sweep it under the carpet. During the time of Nehru also, the Congress denied that the Chinese were doing something wrong.

Beside the crippling factionalism, which is getting bitter and baser by the day, there is a deeper, more profound existential dilemma – and literally so – that’s eating away the very innards of the BJP. A modern, youthful India dismissive of divisiveness seems to be leaving the party behind.
And this is an implosion the BJP may find very difficult to recover from. On first look, there is a severe crisis of faith and leadership in the party as it goes about on an expulsion spree. Some like Sudheendra Kulkarni are leaving on their own. Arun Shourie may be the next to bid the party goodbye. Without the overpowering and tempering presence of Vajpayee it looks like an orphan who’s getting increasingly delinquent and dangerous. Then there are the greatly undermining power games being played among its top leadership, which is hurting the party no end. The problems within are severe, but the threat it faces from outside could be mortal.
If the BJP is to survive, it will have to evolve a new idiom, a fresh philosophy, a broader perspective and, of course, a set of dynamic and acceptable leaders. Babri Masjid and Ram Janmabhoomi won’t do anymore. Neither will minority bashing and its corresponding subtext of Islamic terrorism. The world and India have moved light years from 1992 and its ghost will not haunt this generation. There is simply no time these days to waste hating Muslims or Christians or Sikhs or Parsis. How many people, even within the BJP are truly interested in what finally happens at Ayodhya? Is that what I get up from bed thinking? And I guess my answer will be an echo of most Indians on this date.
There was a time when India got carried away by this. It was a time when it hadn’t really opened its eyes to the world and there was nothing earthshaking inside the country itself to tom-tom and trumpet. So the demolition carried substantial weight and there were subversive elements on both sides of the divide who played up the issue to the hilt, milked it to their benefit and changed the course of the nation forever.
Bereft of any unique ideological plank to carry it around, the BJP is quite clearly lost and floundering. Take away the grandstanding on “Indian culture’’ – of which they claim total patent – and Hindutva, something which the new voter is increasingly intolerant of, and suddenly it has nothing much to talk about. It is not connecting with the masses like it once did and it will get even more tenuous in future. The thought process will have to go for a makeover now or it’ll be too late.
To stall its very purposeful march into right wing oblivion, turning itself into a fringe party, the BJP will have to put its heads together – not cut them off as it is doing these days – and reinvent itself. It will have to say new things and get new people (it could do without Varun Gandhi, though) to say it.
There is room for a robust opposition in India and the BJP will do itself a huge favour by not conceding more space to an invigorated Congress, which is getting its act together and making the right noises on a host of issues that the nation is grappling with – economy, employment, terrorism, education, environment. Well, mostly, if you discount the diplomatic gaffes it continues to make at international forums, especially in relation to its neighbours, be it Pakistan or Nepal. But that’s a trifle compared to the sadomasochism the BJP is subjecting itself to. It is not just perform or perish for the BJP. What they have to do now is go for an ideological face lift, a botox for its brain. And yes, it should not look at the RSS to perform the rectification surgery. It won’t have the tools for it.

Ideas for BJP & Shiv Sena - Mah elections:
1. Please announce candidates jointly for the alliance and do it well in time (it is already getting late)
2. Please annoucence a common manifesto for the alliance as opposed to having two separate ones
3. Please give more than 50% of the seats to youngsters and first time politicians (not sons and daughters of existing leaders) and 50% of those to women
Some points for the manifesto (some general and some specific to Mumbai):
1. Announce a green policy which would impact the top three areas of climate change - vehicles, buildings and factories. For vehicles - announce that you will follow the energy norms set up in California, e.g. 10% of vehilces to be electric by a certain date and all public transport vehicles in the state to be gas-based. For buildings - all new buildings to follow the greem building code by a certain date, inclduing water harvesting - all over the state. For factories - all to get their carbon footprint calcualted and certified, and then announce a carbon tax.
2. For Mumbai - please announce a fixed date by which Mumbai would be made slum-free, no extensions of dates and all encroachments on public land to be removed
3. Find out why was Gowalia Tank (the lake in South Mumbai) filled up and converted into a maidan. Announce that the lake will be re-created in part of the land - and the August Kranti memorial will be retained in the middle of the lake
4. Announce that the Modi script of Marathi will be re-instated over Davanagari, in a time-bound manner, and all official Marathi work would be done in the Modi script (the reasons for which the Modi script was discarded over Devanagari, i.e. difficult to print, etc. are not relevant any more in today’s world of technology)
5. Announce another international airport for Mumbai to the north of the city (this city needs at least three airports if not four).
6. Announce that Mumbai Metropolitan Region development plan would be created using the best international consultants, and then implemented in a time-bound manner.
7. Announce implementation of police reforms as per the National commission’s report
8. Last one, but is likely to be most controversial - announce that anyone who does not have a legal place of stay in Mumbai, will be removed from the voters list - including the Bangladeshis - a sustained campaign is needed for this, Mumbai cannot take this uncontrolled influx - legal inflow of people from any part of the country is fine. I cant understand how anyone who is not a legal resident in a locality can vote in that area.
Once again, I wish that Udhav becomes the CM of the state and we are able to see real progress after the waste that we have seen over the last 10 years witht eh present govt. The current incumbent is a nic eperson but ineffective and I cna assure you that if the Congress does well (hope not), the hated Vilasrao will be back!

On reading the News item that [Nalini, the convicted criminal has gone on Fast]*, Rajiv Gandhi assassin Nalini starts fast to demand release, I am faced with series of queries
A - ‘How come her Death penalty was reduced on the request of the widow?’
B -’How was the daughter of the exPrimeMinsiter allowed to visit Nalini in the prison some months back’
C - ‘Does any family have such option vis-a-vis the convixt OR is it granted special status in Lawonly to THE Family?’ [I wud imagine that the accused of Nimabalkar shall also be pardonedm by manipilations of Powarfool supporters]
Actually I am a devotee of the Late Indiraji but cannot mix up my personal feelings while seeking answers to the provisions in the Law.
I am also a friend of BJP as they still have some spirit for the Nation, ie Bharat
I am also convinced that Ms Sonia is as much an Indian as was Gandhari in MahaBharat and Sharad Pawar objected to her for his personal Career Objective of becoming P.M.

Chennai, Sep 21 (IANS) S. Nalini, undergoing life imprisonment in the Vellore jail for her involvement in the assassination of former Indian prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, Monday started a fast to demand her immediate release from jail.
Nalini was awarded death penalty in 1991 but later at the intervention of Congress chief and Rajiv Gandhi’s widow, Sonia Gandhi, the death sentence was commuted to life imprisonment.
Last week, Nalini, 43, had filed a petition in the Madras High Court asking for the Tamil Nadu government to convene the advisory board to consider her case for release from the jail.
In her petition, Nalini had said that she was entitled for release in 2005 itself as she had completed 14 years in jail.
In 2007, the state government had rejected her application for release and she had then filed a case in the Madras High Court in 2008.
The court directed the state government to reconsider her request for release by a validly constituted advisory board. As the government has not constituted the advisory board yet Nalini asked the court to form a board and to submit a report to the state.
This petition came up for hearing in the Madras High Court Monday and the court asked the state government to respond in two weeks time and posted the next hearing for Oct 6.
Meanwhile, Nalini started her fast at the jail in Vellore, 130 km from Chennai, and has said she would continue her protest till she is released from the prison.
According to the prison authorities, Nalini informed them about her decision to go on fast by a letter Monday morning.
Her husband and co-convict Murugan is also serving his sentence in the same prison.
After the Defeat of BJP in lok sabha elections it is utmost priority for BJP to prove itself in Assembly polls in maharashtra. But still what i have seen is that the distribution of seats in maharashtra was not satisfactory. Leaving the kokan seat for SHIV SENA was a blunder mistake. Party will have to suffer for that. More over what i have seen is that party workers are not happy with party. What happens with other parties is that they do a lot for the upliftment of their partymen and thats why a lots of mob is rushing to these parties. I know that working for only party members is not in party’s policy. But a bit should be done for those who hav spent years of their life working for upliftment of party that to at grassroot level.There is one more issue that i have seen in my locality that the local leaders have made BJP as a pvt ltd firm moving around a few people only. This is not at all expected. All the members of the party should be respected. The last issue is of Ticket distribution: Ticket should be given to those who have alredy worked with party or who supports party alltime. Not to those like what happened in Shirur last time. Because people win election on BJP card and after that they enter some other party. This should not be tolerated. I m from Daund just adjacent to baramati in Pune Dist. And in my locality i hope ticket to be given to one who is already in party and not to someone who just wants to enter the party for ticket. So that all the members of party will work sincerely.
BJP can give a kiss to Maharastra elections and forget them. The mess they are in now is unimaginable. They have to focus of building the party towards bettering India. The leadership crisis is threatening to destroy BJP. They have to slowly push Shiv Sena and other autocratic parties into oblivion and occupy their space. This is the time BJP should go bold and organize state, local and national party elections. Let the leaders emerge not appointed. Change the party constitution to experiment Primaries for choosing candidates to assembly/parliament elections. Go to people and understand their issues and encourage them to participate in party elections.
If they don’t so this, the party will perish.
