Goa Event: Press Coverage
It was a wonderful event in Goa, with over 1200 people present to hear Ravi Shankar Prasad and Manohar Parrikar. Thanks to Sahana Nayak and her team for putting up such a great show. Ravi Shankar Prasad also took questions, and handled them with aplomb. Here is a photo from Navhind Times by Nandesh Kambli.
Here is a pre-event article from The Times of India:
Upping the ante in its fight for the Lok Sabha seats, a new initiative to push the BJP to power will come into force in the state on Tuesday.
Friends of BJP-Goa’ that describes itself as a subset of the educated civil society that is BJP-leaning, and willing to be vocal about it, will hold its first meeting at Tonca in the capital city on Tuesday evening.
The Friends of BJP’ comprises young professionals and intend to use social media (mobile and online) and drawing room meetings to help boost their support.
Its objective includes helping the BJP win more urban seats by using the assistance of members to get one lakh new votes in every constituency.
“We already have doctors, lawyers, chartered accountants and business persons among our members. The focus is on getting young professionals into the fold. We believe that four and half years of Parrikar’s rule was better than what the other governments gave to the state since the last 47 years. Similar in the NDA’s case at the centre,”convenor Sahana Nayak said.
Friends of BJP’, which aims at becoming a national movement, was officially launched in Mumbai on February 28.
“We will use idea banks, blogs, and SMSes in our campaign for the upcoming polls,” Nayak said, adding that an idea bank would provide a platform for members to channel inputs in multiple disciplines for the manifesto and to the BJP leadership.
