In the last 20 years, the Indian economy has taken rapid strides and by the consensus view of the world markets, is on the cusp of achieving greatness. In the next 10 years, Indian economy is expected to become the third largest behind USA and China. The emerging consensus among world leaders will soon see India occupy a permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council.

The time is now right for India to also acquire thought leadership. In this context, we at Friends of BJP, Mumbai would like to engage the nation in a dialogue on ‘India in the Emerging World Order’. This also happens to be the main theme of Shri Rajiv Malhotra’s new book ‘Being Different”.

This book is being viewed as an Indian response to Samuel Huntingdon’s “The Clash of Civilization and the Remaking of World Order”. We are delighted to start the dialogue with a panel discussion, where we aim to reverse the gaze to look at the West, by repositioning Indian / dharmic civilizations from being the observed, to being the observer.
