Constituency Development Goals

(District - Chennai)

(State - Tamil Nadu)

(Lok Sabha Constituencies - Madras Central, Madras North, Madras South)

Overview: With a population of 4,343,645 Chennai accounts for 6.96 percent of the population of Tamil Nadu. 100.00 percent of the population lives in towns and cities. Scheduled castes and scheduled tribes form 604,838 and 13.92 percent of the population respectively.

The three largest scheduled caste groups are Adi Dravida, Adi Andhra and Generic Castes . The three largest scheduled tribe groups are Kurumans, Generic Tribes and Irular.

65.62 percent of the district’s population is in the working age group of 15-59 years. The district ranks 18 among 591 districts of India in terms of proportion of population in working age group (a higher rank reflects a good performance). An inclusive growth process and employment generation have been accorded high priority in the XIth five year plan. Specific action plans need to be tailored for every district depending on the size, level of urbanization and educational attainment of the workforce.

The larger the elderly population the greater would be the need for social support for the elderly. 11.03 percent of the district’s population is over the age of 59 years.

An often used indicator to capture the extent of discrimination against the girl child is the child sex ratio. In this district, the sex ratio, i.e. the number of girls per 1000 boys, among children in the age group 0-6 years is 972. The district ranks 57 among 591 districts of India (a higher rank reflects a good performance). Ideally the sex ratio at birth should be between 943 and 954 and can be used as a thumb rule to measure the extent of gender discrimination in the district. Addressing the issue of sex selective abortion and female infanticide needs to be given high priority in districts with a sex ratio far from the norm of 943 girls per 1000 boys.

Socio-Economic Status: One aspect of living conditions in the district is the type of dwelling that households reside in. percent of households live in a temporary structure while percent of households live in semi-permanent structure. The district ranks among districts of India in terms of percentage of household living a temporary structure (a higher rank reflects a poor performance).

An indicator of the level of deprivation in the district is the proportion of households without any of the following: radio, television, telephone, bicycle, scooter, car or a bank account. 10.5 percentage of households do not have any of the above mentioned goods and services. The district ranks 585 among 593 districts of India , in this indicator (a higher rank reflects a good performance).

744,200 of household in this district have a bank account, a proxy for the extent of financial intermediation. The district ranks 585 among 593 districts of India in terms of extent of financial intermediation (a higher rank reflects a good performance).

Access to the outside world is important. Improved access and connectivity can contribute to improving livelihoods. As part of a poverty reduction strategy, the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, aims at improving connectivity in rural habitations. The district ranks , , among districts of India in terms of percentage of villages having paved approach road, bus services, and post, telegraph and telephone facility.

Education and Health Outcomes: District level estimates of incidence of poverty are not available. Instead, we can examine outcomes along the following non income dimensions of well being: education and health. It is not necessary that with a decline in incidence of poverty there would be an automatic improvement along these dimensions. The reason for this is that,

“Poverty line derived from personal consumption patterns and levels do not take into account items of social consumption such as basic education and health, drinking water supply, sanitation, environmental standards, etc. in terms of normative requirements or effective access” (p.11 Government of India 1993).

Educational Attainment: The overall literacy rate in the district is 85.33. The male and female literacy rate are respectively 90.01, 80.44. The district ranks 28 and 24 among all districts of India in terms of male and female literacy (a higher rank reflects a good performance). However, the level of literacy does not reflect educational attainment.

The total number of years of schooling that an Indian boy or girl can expect to receive in the future is only 9.8 years. Even this average is an overestimate because of grade repetition.

India has a relatively young population. It is important to invest in improving level of educational attainment. Over the next five years, a concerted effort needs to be made to improve the number of children finishing middle school. With 13.1 percent of its population completing middle school, Chennai ranks 15 among 590 districts of India.

The Government of India’s avowed objective is to ensure that all children go to primary school. In the event that we do achieve this target, it will be important to ensure that every village also has a middle school and a secondary school. .

Reproductive Health: Of the estimated total of 536,000 maternal deaths worldwide, in 2005, India accounted for an estimated total of 117,000 maternal deaths. The probability that a 15-year-old Indian woman will die eventually from a maternal cause is 1 in 70 as compared to 1 in 1300 in China. The Maternal Mortality Ratio in India is estimated to be 45 per 100,000 births.

The multiple factors that contribute to the unacceptably high number of maternal deaths are viz. prevalence of marriage below the legal age, inadequate antenatal and postnatal care, and absence of skilled personnel at the time of child birth.

In Chennai, 5.4 percent of girls marry before the legal age of 18 years. In order to tackle the problem of child marriage, in addition to compulsory registration of marriages, information and education campaigns also need to be initiated in the district.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends at least four antenatal care visits throughout the pregnancy. It is widely accepted that the number of antenatal visits by a pregnant woman determines where the woman delivers her child. In Chennai, 97.4 percent of women made at least 3 visits for antenatal care.

The more antenatal visits, the higher the chance of the birth occurring in a health facility or in the presence of a skilled personnel. In Chennai, 98.4 percent of women delivered in an institutional facility. It is important to increase this average. It is estimated that 52 percent of current maternal deaths worldwide can be averted by providing access to essential obstetric care.

Awareness of HIV-AIDS: The proportion of men and women aware of HIV-AIDS was 97.5, 98.3 respectively. In terms of awareness of HIV-AIDS among men Chennai ranks 39 among the 592 districts of India and ranks 11 in terms of awareness of HIV-AIDS among women. (Higher the Rank, laser the awareness about the HIV-AIDS).

Child Health: In Chennai 96.2 percentage of children, in the age group 12-13 months received full immunization while 0 did not receive any immunization. The district ranks 9 in terms of percentage of children receiving full immunization (a higher rank reflects a good performance) and ranks 513 in terms of percentage of children receiving no immunization (a higher rank reflects a poor performance).

Rural Health Infrastructure: Of the villages, 0.0 percent have a primary health centre while 0.0 percent have a primary health sub centre. Chennai ranks 592, 592 in terms of percentage of villages having a primary health centre and primary health sub centre.

In order to improve reproductive and child health indicators it is necessary not only to ensure that 100 percent of villages have a primary health sub centre but adequate medical supplies are available in each centre.

I can’t believe this. The man who aspires to be the prime minister of this country is speaking in such nasty language. While there is no defence for what Varun has said, but he is a young guy. What about a seasoned politician who remained the chief minister of a state for such a long period and eulogised by the world for turning Railways into a profit-making department. If such an experienced politician can speak so mean to woo voters of a particulalr community in Kisanganj, then why blame Varun? Shame on you greedy politicans! Lalu is worse than Varun

Look at the media , it is not a subject in any television debate, Why? Lalu Yadav is secular, because he said he will crush Varun who raise voice for hindus. It is great if you want to become seucalr, you kill or do whatever you want to do hidus because they are not united- you will not be questioned by media or any body. Spineless Hindus wake up, act if you are united nobody will raise a voice against you. What BJP is doing? You don’t want to complaint to the EC? May be you all forgot , how Lalu become messaih of one particular community by arresting Advani during Rathyathra. He is trying play the same card again? Poor BJP you will never get any support from media because that they all are controlled by antinationalist. Why can’t Nitish kumar to raise an FIR against him? My dear secular media you look through all parties and politicians in one prisom, otherwise we neutral people will shut your channel for ever

    Chandrayaan Mission – grabbing credit.

Advertising on the net is an inexpensive and effective way of carrying your message to a large number of people and political parties have discovered this fact only during this election. The BJP has had a start here since its Prime Ministerial candidate has been off the block earlier. For the last few days one can come across advertisements of the Congress party when one surfs the net. One of the achievements touted by it is the Chandrayaan mission to the moon the launch of which took place during the UPA regime.

India launched the spacecraft by a modified version of the PSLV C11 on 22 October 2008 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, Nellore District, Andhra Pradesh about 80 km north of Chennai at 06:22 IST. The mission was a major boost to India’s space program, as India competes with Asian nations China and Japan in exploring the Moon. The vehicle was successfully inserted into lunar orbit on 8 November 2008.

I wonder under whose advice the Congress party has projected this mission as one of its achievements.

The Chandrayaan mission was Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s vision. It was on August 15th the nation’s 56th Independence Day celebration in 2003 that Vajpayee had announced from the historic Red Fort: “Our country is now ready to fly high in the field of science. I am pleased to announce that India will send her own spacecraft to Moon by 2008. It is being named Chandrayaan-1”. In Sanskrit, “Chandrayaan” means “Moon Craft”. The announcement meant that the government had cleared the proposal made by a committee comprising some of the top scientific brains for India’s moon foray. At that particular point of time the ISRO said, “Today, India is confident of undertaking a complex space mission because of its indigenously developed launch vehicle and spacecraft capabilities. This mission will provide a unique opportunity for frontier scientific research.” “Chandrayaan-1 is expected to be the forerunner of more ambitious planetary missions in the years to come, including landing robots on the moon and visits by Indian spacecraft to other planets in the solar system.” It further added that “the spacecraft will initially be launched into a geo-synchronous transfer orbit, and subsequently manoeuvred into its final lunar orbit using its own propulsion system. The spacecraft is expected to be ready for launch by 2008”.

During the UPA regime the actual launch took place. At that time the BJP patriarch noted with great pleasure the successful launch of India’s first unmanned mission to the Moon. “I offer my hearty congratulations to Madhavan Nair, chairman of ISRO, and other scientists and engineers working on this mission on this historic success. They have worked relentlessly and with commendable fortitude to place an Indian spacecraft, carrying the Tricolour, on the trajectory of Moon,” Vajpayee said on that occasion.
The former PM said he was especially pleased that this project, which was planned by the NDA Government, had been brought to a successful fruition. “I had the honour of announcing it in my Independence Day address to the nation in 2003,” he recalled.
In his words, the mission to Moon was a stupendous achievement by India in the frontier area of space research. Moreover, he outlined, what was especially creditable is that “our achievement is the fruit of self-reliant efforts”. “I am sure that, other than the scientific knowledge that Chandrayaan-1 will garner, it will serve as a beacon of inspiration to the younger generation and as a stepping stone to other great feats by India in science and technology,” he said.

His announcement on the 15th of August 2003 was on the lines of President J.F.Kennedy’s vision for the American space program. Kennedy first announced the goal for landing a man on the Moon in speaking to a Joint Session of Congress on May 25, 1961, saying “First, I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the Moon and returning him back safely to the earth. No single space project in this period will be more impressive to mankind, or more important for the long-range exploration of space; and none will be so difficult or expensive to accomplish.’
Kennedy later made a speech at Rice University on September 12, 1962, in which he said “No nation which expects to be the leader of other nations can expect to stay behind in this race for space.” “We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard.’ On July 20, 1969, almost six years after JFK’s death, Project Apollo’s goal was finally realized when men landed on the Moon. The President of the day did not try to take credit and say that it was his or his regime’s achievement.
The NREGS is a program of the UPA Government and nobody will grudge it for taking credit for the same. It is a good program and the UPA government deserves credit for launching it. However, it would have received greater encomiums if it had strengthened, the delivery mechanism for the scheme.
While the moon mission is not an achievement of any particular government or party, but of the whole nation, one should not forget the vision of Atal Behari Vajpayee and give due credit where it is due. It is so absurd that the UPA is taking credit for the same, that it
might as well take credit for the National Highways program of the NDA and claim it as its own. It is another matter that the National Highways program has been shoddily implemented ever since the UPA came to power.

It is good that BJP is contesting alone in Tamilnadu. Please strive to do that continuously. If you could put up a candidate in Sriperumpudhur we will know what really it means for a party. There is indeed an undercurrent of a need to reject all the three major candidates viz from UPA, third front and even DMDK. BJP should put up a candidate and in the long run we will have a truly national party working and bidding for power in Tamilnadu. It is still not too late for BJP to project a honest well known politician/industrialist as their candidate in this constituency

The BJP should not give tickets to Christians who are used by the Church to infiltrate into every organisations, whether Govt. or Pvt. to influence.
HT.Sangliana, ‘Swami’ Agnivesh are a few examples of Christians who camoflauge their activities as Hindu to fool the Hindus.

    Dear Brothers,
I agree with Sri.Nagsundaram.BJP should put candidates in all 39 seats in tamilnadu. When vijayakanth is doing why not BJP.wHETHER BJP WINS OR LOOSE it should field candidates. There is vaccum in tamilnadu politics.People are eyeing for an alternative to DMK AND ADMK before vijayakanth and congress fills it BJP SHOULD AWAKE AND ARISE.
IN TAMILNADU BJP IS SEEN AS BHRAMIN PARTY,it should be removed from the minds of people. It should project leader like RENGARAJAN KUMARAMANGALM or sholud groom like him.it should try to put candidates in all assembly constituencies at least for 2011 election.

Can India ever hold a mega sporting event?
The Indian Premier League as a concept has been a grand success. It has caught the imagination of the country and comes at a time when people were groaning from an overdose of politics from the news channels. It was with a tinge of sadness and a sense of loss that one received the news that it was being shifted to South Africa. It is really odd to watch Chennai, Delhi, Bangalore, Rajasthan, Punjab, Calcutta, competing from far away South Africa.
All of us know the sequence of events and the causes as to why the IPL was shifted out of the country. This decision to shift abroad has “almost clubbed” India with Pakistan (where the Sri Lankan cricket team was attacked) as an unsafe sporting venue. The Home Ministry’s refusal to assure security for the high-profile Twenty-20 league has given the country a bad name. Mr.Arun Jaitley was reflecting the views of most sports lovers when he said that “The Impression which has gone is that India is not a safe destination for sporting events. Country’s activities don’t come to a standstill merely because elections are being held”. In fact, Mr.Narendra Modi the Chief Minister of Gujarat went even further. He said “The reputation of India as a safe country in the world has been shattered today by the attitude adopted by the Central Government on the security issues of IPL. It has sent a direct signal that the Indian Government is bogged down by the terrorists’ threats. It will also send the message that India is an unsafe country. The decision of the UPA government lacks farsightedness,” adding that “now the hosting of Commonwealth Games in 2010 will also come under cloud”.
The Home Minister went on to comment that the IPL is a shrewd combination of Sports and Business and there was no need to add politics to it. However, there was a selective leak of a letter by the Gujarat State police chief S S Khandawala, to discredit Mr.Narendra Modi. Immediately the Congress spokesperson said, “If not Modi, at least his police officials are concerned about the security of the people”. Of course it is another matter that the letter was one of the earlier letters written to Gujarat Cricket Association President Narhari Amin seeking clarification of dates and not the final letter by the DGP.
Now comes the news that Australia will not send its Davis Cup team to India for the next month’s tie because of security concerns. Tennis Australia has taken this decision despite knowing, the country could now face a year-long ban and a substantial fine. The Davis Cup tie was to take place in Chennai’s Nungambakkam Stadium in May. This is the same venue where the ‘Chennai Open’ has been taking place for the last several years. Mr.Chidambaram’s colossal goof up and the direct consequence of his actions is the reason for this. The Australian Davis Cup captain John Fitzgerald’s words corroborate the charge that grave injustice has been done to the image of India as a sporting nation. “We cannot send the team. It would be irresponsible of us to send our players into an area of such high risk. Davis Cup is very important to us but some things are more important than tennis,” he said. The Australian press had this to say - security in the sub-continent has been called into question following the ambush of the Sri Lanka cricket team’s bus in Lahore, Pakistan, in March. The incident triggered concerns that sports could become a target for more attacks in South Asia.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India moved the Indian Premier League ‘Twenty-20’ to South Africa after the government said “providing security would be a problem due to clash of dates with the general election”! John Fitzgerald said he was angry with the International Tennis Federation’s decision that Chennai was a safe venue and pointed to events surrounding the election that suggested security forces were being stretched.
Fitzgerald added “It is just irresponsible. Surely some thought must be given to the players’ safety. I believe they say the elections are not a cause for concern, the IPL moving is not relevant and that an ATP tournament held in January shows it is safe to play in Chennai. So what about the fact that dozens of people are being killed along the campaign trail of the election? A train was hijacked this week, but that does not alter their thoughts? Did the IPL move for no reason?”

On Saturday, April 25th, All India Tennis Association lashed out at Australia for pulling out of next month’s Davis Cup tie against India, saying they have acted in an “arrogant” and “irresponsible” manner “by creating a situation solely out of their mind and not based on facts”. The Home Minister said on Television that the Australians have decided not to come because they are scared to lose. One may have opinions about the sportsman spirit of the Australians, but any sport enthusiast will not accuse the Australians for not having competitive spirit, and therefore, the Home Minister’s observation deserve to be rubbished. In a letter sent to AITA, Tennis Australia President Geoff Pollard said that it would be irresponsible of us to send our players into an area of such high risk.

The Home Minister by not being able to provide security to the IPL, allegedly because of the General Elections in India, has sent out a message to the world that India is incapable of holding international sporting events. The repercussions of this move will be felt for a long time to come. It will take even longer to remove the perception of India being a weak state. This is probably the first instance in the world where a domestic tournament is being shifted out somewhere else.

The biggest irony of it all is that the IPL has been moved to South Africa when that country, too, is going through its General elections.

Lankan crisis an opportunity to BJP

As per my knowledge Tamil peoples are very much comrades and emotional and sensitive. Why BJP is not utilizing this golden opportunity to get into Tamil politics or are they only interested in Northern states politics. Please get into the issue by helping and taking a hard stand on lankan ethnical issue, like if voted to power will send Indian Army to support the Tamil speaking people in Lanka. Let Advanji air this strong decision at Tamilnadu election meetings also reiterate a strong stand against Prabakaran that if caught he will be brought back to India to face the trial in Rajiv assassination. We are against Lankan genoside policy of Tamils in Lanka if it continues we will support to create a Tamil elam in Srilanka..We can’t see Srilanka as a nation anymore and it’s a blunder done by Colonial peoples to create a nation outside Indian territory, we would like to rewrite history if Lanka continue the genocide of Tamil’s in their home state. Let Advanji make some of these opinions in Tamilnaadu.

I am sure we will see the difference, MDMK & PMK will rally behind BJP and also take the help of Rajanikath as he is a known supporter & admirer of Advanji and a believer of BJP ideology. Cho rama swamy a well known writer Journals of tamil is also a BJP supporter. then the path of BJP in Tamilnaadu will wide open and then try every possibilities to emerge as a strong force in Tamilnaadu with the help of Film stars and with good politicians and leaders that is only way BJP can come to power in TN. Karnataka & Tamilnaadu contributes maximum seats in LS from South and understand the importance of Tamil politics in the present scenario which is very much ideal time to built the party in Tamilnaadu and be with peoples issue’s at each and every seconds. Let the tamil people understand that this is the party with difference.

I have a concern over China on Lankan issue and hence I put the above suggestion to support a Tamil elam to give a very strong signal to our neighboring countries. Every country should try to become stronger & stronger not weak day by day what china is doing now a days. They were even influenced the Maoists in Nepal.. Since China is encircling India by influencing Indian Ocean through Lankan govt… then why we should support the Lankan govt. for the on going war against LTTE.. let them fight with LTTE.. we are also against LTTE.. but poor Tamil people are suffering due to this. How can we stand like a dummy when our own people’s are genoside in other countries.. No we should act firmly now. Otherwise let our enemy’s make us a fool by encircling India either by through Lanka or through Nepal Maoists. Once Maiosts were inducted n Nepal army India is over, hence we should support Nepal army now.. not later.,otherwise Nepal a very small nation of our own Hindu’s is going to give a challenge through china. Let us sunderstand that we will be engaged with issues related to our small nation’s surrounding us and other internal clashes.. while other country like china will surpass us by growing very fastly. This is China’s technique to stop our growth.

I felt very bad on the stand taken by BJP on Lankan crisis. Where is your think tanks were gone? If a national party like BJP continues like this who will vote for you ? are you not interested to take seats from Tamilnaadu and from other south states, this is some of your leaders misconcept that in southern states, Dravida party can only win, for that BJP should develop a war team of leaders who will campaign in every part of Tamil and constantly interact with common man’s issue years after years. To develop party don’t think that it is a work of year time. When issues are there BJP must be the first Opposition to highlight it first and fight for the justice till the end. No party can grow in any states without the genuine approach and fight for justice along with good leaders who are down to earth and approchable by every common man. Let this be BJP’s agenda to develop the party in every nook and corner of India.

If BJP took such a stand definetley Tamil party’s will rally behind BJP, then it will be a beginning of the growth for BJP in Tamilnaadu.. or atleast Otherwise Jayalalitha may change their stand after the election. and will support BJP in center.

    Thanking you

    Ethics of Channel journalism

Why media is always inclined towards either congress or Communists. I feel like all media co. are financed by Congress otherwise why they are constantly making issues regarding Nitish kumar joining congress ? these media’s are only responsible to create confusion in a states where there is good developmental work is going on and delivering development since last three years. Is the Media want to bring down them to a poor states, we all know these media people were given the world to mock us while Bombay terror was going by delivering a live show, What a bad journalism is going round the channels.. Where is the ethics of Journalism gone yaar.

Is NDTV & CNN IBN are interested only in destabilizing the BJP ruled states by exposing unwanted topics like Modi- to PM, Nitish joining congress, while he is constantly refusing to ally with congress. Is Barka dutta & Sardesai are smarting themselves by trying to make confusion in stable Governments or are they trying to make a Govt.of their own interest or are they mock us. Why Channel peoples are giving much importance to Left party leaders like Karat,Yechuri & co. and why not Mulayam, Nitish, Mayawathi which are having an equal no. of LS seats when compared to Left. or is it not they are not convent educated. Or may be due to their merit of lack of mass base support to contest LS and never even won a LS election in their own capacity., Communists having hardly a 40 seats are given much more importance in live TV shows than BJP leaders which is having a 140 plus Ls seats, or is it due to ditch the congress Govt. when the country badly needa energy and to sign 123, if the treaty was with Soviet or china won’t they support congress govt. Did BJP do like that, are they stand against country’s need, then why media people are against BJP and by knowing everything media is giving importance to Karat & Co., or are you worried about good performance of BJP states.? or are your journalists cant see poverty in left ruled states, can’t see bad governance in Bengal & kerala or is it due to good governance in Gujarat, Karnataka, MP & Bihar etc.
Media should decide their strategy to reach out to people and help them that could be your ethics of Journalism or not to give unwanted importance and images to the left leaders who are destroying their states. How these channel peoples shut their eyes and try to destabilize good governments of BJP, is it not Barka & Co.’s responsibility to highlight corruption and poor development and poverty in Bengal & tripura ? is it not your duty? and Plese don’t try to make the public fool only by highlighting issues of BJP ruled states. In other words these media’s are much hazardous than a tainted politician and to add finally, don’t believe that by conducting a debate session with some convent educated people on a topic in a centralized AC room and by airing some literature in English won’t become sound journalism, for that you should get into the poor people’s needs and understand & highlight & resolve their issues irrespective of party or Governments and that is the ethics of Journalism, not by inclining towards any individual political party but by inclining towards the larger interest of the nation.

Know the Proactive and selfless leader : Advanji

Last day when I saw NDTV news where I found an aged and old Politician with tremendous energy reaching out to meet Bhairon Singh and sorted out the issue in Rajasthan. Is this show only Advanji knows the aftermath of election in Rajasthan ? Why not others.

I believe these are the duties of Second rung leaders not a PM candidate, where all he should run to sort out the issues. I believe in all other states where ever BJP ruled they did not show any sign of anti incumbency factor, only Rajasthan shows that, which means a bad Governance with poor people support . We all are responsible for this, why BJP & RSS leaders have not monitored her rule in Rajasthan earlier. Or is it like that after winning the election the respective state leaders will handle the governance according to his or her will or wish without the control of party or central leaders. I am surprised to see a proactive party like BJP has not prepared a monitoring cell to check the activity of each BJP ruled state to correct or change the leaders if they found them making wrong decision and corruption happening every time in five years of their rule. Again I am feeling this too is the duty of Advanji, not the so called second generation leaders. Is it not Vasandara Raje’s duty to give a better Governance like other BJP states and to deliver more seats in LS to support BJP and Advanji.. Adavanji is the person who made her CM in Rajasthan and no help in return vice versa.. or what else did she deliver to the party, only a grand name with Raje, she can’t even control and solve an issue like Gujjar and Meena properly. Why RSS and BJP not monitored her rule properly in the very first year itself, when it is understood that she is not the leader that BJP is looking for, that time itself decision should be taken to bring new face with RSS bay grounds, eg.. we all felt that after Uma bharati’s expulsion from BJP, I personally felt that BJP in MP is over .. then we found the rise of the leader Shivraj singh chowhan . BJP is looking for such honest and sincere leaders, who never wanted to be larger or bigger than the mother party and never be a talkative leader in TV shows or never forget the way he comes to top post. We do not want people who are concerned about their states but someone who is interested in the overall development of India. For that, firm decision should be taken while handing over charge to state leaders, if you want to rule states you have to deliver better so that we can rule the country better. For that a monitoring cell must be created in BJP central office where office bearers must not be partial and should have perfect concept how to rule states? how could the Budget be prepared? what is the policy for Minority, How to develop poor people, Industry, education to all back ward people even Muslim, Retirement scheme etc.. make a written procedure with the help of RSS & BJP and implement in all BJP ruled states and the respective states should consult to the BJP Monitoring cell and take their approval before implementation. Every year end let the Monitoring body audit every state head quarters to comply the requirements and suggestions, if not change the guard of honour to someone else who can deliver the requirements. Let every state leaders who is running the individual state start to worry about this newly created power center in BJP chaired by Advanji. This committee must be filled entirely on the basis of proven records with highly administrative skills and intellectuals in different subjects like Economy, Education, Security, Health etc. and it can also be from RSS bay grounds like shivraj sing chowhan. But certainly not the leaders like Sinha & Co.

I would like to say Advanji and other leaders to sort out the leader ship issue in Rajasthan party so that more seats would be in BJP’s baskets. Do whatever Shekawat want and take his support before the election in Rajasthan phase goes. Under stand the importance of the hour than understanding it later. Give equal importance to Bhairon S & Vasandara Raje and present both at single stage’s at diffrent parts of Rajastahn. These are the duties of central party leaders and if they can’t calculate all these things in advance, I think literally they are ditching Advanji and BJP by sitting at central office and commenting I on Next Prime minister (though it is good to get more seats in Gujarat but to a cetatin extent only) and so by ensuring their seat and ministry post in next govt. let Jaitely and others do a compromising formula to get the help of Shekawat. I belive that looking at the senario of election, BJP is having a clear edge over other parties. So take that advantage in the coming phase too, and we can make it. For that we need leaders like (Late) Mahajan.. Not the leaders sitting in centralised AC without any mass base support and unnecessarily airing comments in TV shows etc.. without a consultation with the Senior leaders and to make confusion in Caders. hence it happened in Rajasthan so support shekawat and show the change of leader and bring back the support of common people.

I belive Advanji is doing his best even at this age too, but younger leaders I doubt.. they are more interested in making confusion and ego’s between them.. bury that ego’s first belive in yourself and party. Understand that Advanji can’t reach every nook and corner of conflicts in your party, he only made the this party into a reckoning force in Indian politics, that credit only goes to him not even Vajpaiji.. What ever he wanted to contribute he made that and even larger than that anybody in BJP. Now this is you people’s self discipline and stop the ego’s and conflicts which would help to make a strong BJP in every parts of the country. It is always advanji’s duty to nourish young leaders and bring them to top post and later it was seen that these young leaders start to tease him by not even supporting him when he needs the support atmost like ,eg. PM post for Modi, Jinnah episode, Sinha comments on Khandhar terrorist issue & Jaitely – Rajnath conflits etc.. I am sure after advanji, you won’t get such a great strategist leader in future hence understand his importance and support him every way to achieve the goal.

I Believe, this is the third time Advanji is taking BJP close to the margin of victory, can anybody in BJP deliver like that and unite like that , even Modi or Rajnath may do it at their home turf, but certainly not other parts. For that younger leaders are like more self disciplined, experienced, honest and sincere to party and to nation what Advanji has been doing since 80 years of his political career. Otherwise he would have formed a new party when Jinnah episode broke out, due to humiliation faced from his own people whom he handpicked when they were none in Indian politics. He would have coined regarding Jinnah in such a way when in Pakistan by keeping something in mind and our people never given a chance to explain him or understand him on what contest he made such a comment. It is only to show that BJP is not an anti Muslim party and hence can explain that we are not against minority cast and people. We can’t go always with Ram Mandir issue alone to rule our country you need support from each and every part of country and people. Once you have own majority of BJP, BJP can do and deliver what they promised earlier.

So young leaders should study and practice Advanji’s life and his experience and his attitude for any post in Party or in Govt and he is someone who wants to make the country and not looking for any particular fame. His attitude is like
“work hard today and bear the fruit of success tomorrow”

    Thanking you

I am very much impressed by the writings of Mr. Nambiar and would like to share something in this context. In 1990 I visited Madras and was surprised to see some BJP slogans like “Join BJP”
and many more. Those were the hay days of Ramjanambhoomi movement and Advaniji was a darling of media and people .But I am sorry that even after 20 years the party is still struggling and has not been successful in even sending one MP to Loksabha. In this period Mr Jana Krishnamurti’s elevation to the highest post of president of BJP could not materialise any thing of substance for the party in Tamilnadu.I think dependence on allies like DMK or Aiadmk has been the sole reason behind this whole affair.I, as an strong admirer of BJP would be more satisfied with 5 MPs from tamilnadu than whole government in any northern state. The top brass shold nurture talents in young generation and as Mr Nambiar suggests, BJP should exploit this situation of Lankan Tamils in Srilanka.Every true nationalist Indian must have some sense of sympathy for innocent Tamil civilians but congress led by Sonia, has made it a personal matter of her own due to killing of Rajiv Gandhi by tamil extremists and therefore nothing is being done for the safegaurd of these innocent tamilians by Central govt. If BJP wants a true national character of its own it is mandatory to make inroads in the Tamil heartland. And this is the best time to open this movement with long term prospects.

Is the Blogs helped BJP ?

Sir I am really worry about even BJP leaders policy too. We all are writing at midnight
to support the party and to give them some ideas regarding the issues in Tamilnaadu and other states, there what could be the party’s poll plank. But I feel leaders who are campainig in TN are not even interested to read the articles which are releated to that states. Then what else we can expect.

If the leaders are observing such important topics on blog’s then why they are mum on such hot topics and instead they talks about issues like Nepal crisis and Manmohan Weak PM etc. in Tamil naadu..I am sure that in Tamilnaadu nobody will hear and care you dear if you talk a irrelevant topics at tamil motherland when its sons are getting genocide in Lanka. Instead of highlighting and try to get support from Tamil states by supporting Lankan crisis when it really needs. When will your policy makers understand there is also 39 seats in LS that always goes to the basket of Congress in any way. Today if BJP supported and taken such a stand the aftermath may not effect in this election, but certainly it will definitely effect in next election it will start develop the party in that states or else are these highlighting issues on Blogs are just a jimmic to woo the young voters.
If your answer is No, then do it sincerely dear. Go through every blogs, find out what are the hot topics highlighted, reach them if possible, this all will increase your credibility in young voters.
Here we are lacking, I am sure that today’s young peoples are having a different opinion and approach for national issues than like their family members or parents. They may all are traditionally voting to congress or some regional parties like me. If Vice versa then it is well and good, but for that rest of peoples, If we can influence these young brigade, motivate them, understand them and educate them to persuade alteast their family to vote for BJP for the larger interest of Nation., since a large chunk of middle class peoples are earning from metro cities and thus become a helping hand for their family who lives in their respective villages by sending money and through other financial aids, do they have a say in their family decision makings. Yes . they can easily influence their family, if we try to persuade these young brigade to ask and ensure that their family will vote for BJP this time.

But it is not happening in Blogs. In blogs individuals are just commenting and leaving, if the blog managers can reach and persuade these blogers that could become a good sign for the BJP, but it is not happening, but it has to be happened very early I am really distrusted to see lacking these small small points which can really make a serious implications if tried properly. I am not sure after election will these blogs are remaining their or not. My opinion is that to keep these blogs is a healthy idea to achieve a common goal by airing different issues in different parts off the country. Also we cannot become a watch dogs every time when elections comes instead we wanted to be a watch dog for how you are delivering or how you are ruling the country. Wrong decisions and tainted leaders can be easily be highlighted through this medium. Thus by stopping the damage to the party and also can help out the party in the next election too.

I am supporting BJP just because of just one reason, Security of our nation is under grave threat. from every corner we are facing threats and conflicts. From West it is of Pakistan and Taliban, from North, Kashmir and also due to mounting pressure from China regarding Nefa, from east it is ULFA, Naga, Bodo, etc.. from Nepal, Bangladesh, from south it is from Srilanka. We completely under hevy pressure from all these antisocial elements. When will our Govt. understand this serous issue and act. What is our policy regarding all these antinational elements. Why we can’t keep a Govt. of Indian Interest in Nepal or Lanka or even in Bangladesh. It is really shame to see that India such big country can’t even influence a small country like Nepal or Lanka which is even smaller than our state Goa.

Congress leaders and Indian Govt. may say that we can’t involve in other country’s internal matter or conflicts. You are right man, but because of the said country’s political instability we are facing problem know. For that who will answer this questions ?. hence we need a strong nation we need a very strong Govt. from the present scenario it is BJP which can deliver that.
